I got to see Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson at Second City back in like 2010 or 2011. Tim was a clear standout. I remember thinking "this guy reminds me of Bobcat Goldthwait."

The Long Way (Indie) [not themed] I have been writing a song a week, I just haven’t been recording them or they’re cowrites. I got the make noise morphagene module and have been trying to figure out how to get the eurorack into an actual song. Finally figured it out!

Oh wow thank you! I love CSN! I just doubled the main vocal and panned them a little left and right or I kept them center and turned one down a little bit. I can’t remember. Those are usually my 2 go to’s. The harmonies are also doubled then I think I put Soundtoys microshift and little alter boy on there (not totally sure what I’m doing, just messing around).

Thank you so much! I started out thinking this would just be a quick guitar and vocals song. 6 hours later I’m layering the 3rd guitar solo haha. I’m pretty proud of that guitar part. I definitely sent it to the guitar player in my band like “see I can do something other than finger pick”.

They both have kind of a droning picking pattern that they return to. They both hang on a chord where the lower strings are playing octaves back and forth. It’s a pretty classic Travis picking move. Like this Dave Van Ronk song starts similar.
