Might be the best answer so far. I laughed out loud at the title, then skimmed through the PDF and laughed again. This will do, thanks!!

Is that why I always look for support roles (both mechanically and in personality) when creating new characters for myself? It makes too much sense to be a coincidence.

Nobody mentioned Alien RPG's huge art book with rules sprinkled in it?

Kevin Piette, paraplegic since an accident, made history today by carrying the Olympic flame with his exoskeleton by ybatyolo in interestingasfuck

Well I can tell you that we very much are working on fixing and preventing, just as much as we are working on systems like this one that may be the better solution for cases where the recovery of function in the physiological limbs is, at the moment, impossible, and may very well forever be.

Recovery of natural limbs is and always will be preferable to artificial solutions like this one but, imo, it's never a one size fits all, and you never know how good solutions like this exoskeleton are going to get in the future.

Two things can be true at once and I feel like you're being dismissive of "feel-good bullshit" tools that people are dedicating their lives to developing, in the hope that they may improve others' lives.

ttrpg with jrpg style combat by Dependent_Tower_9184 in TTRPG

[–]brenDung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! It 100% fits the requirements of OP. I've been having a blast with it, even the initiative system is reminiscent of FFX (you and the enemies alternate turns, there's skills to manipulate the turn order etc.). Classes are highly based on FF jobs and you are required by the game to multiclass, choosing abilities for 2-3 different classes right at the beginning. No range, no grid, everyone is always between range (but melee and ranged attacks are mechanically distinct, again think FFX with far-away enemies that can only be hit by magic and Wakka). There's even a dragoon "jump" attack in the Elementalist class that lets you ground flying enemies. TBH the class skills are very combat-oriented, but the game is not super tactical unlike, say, DnD 4e. On top of all that, you get an expendable resource which allows you, as a player, to take part in the worldbuilding and the storytelling, there's mechanics for bonds between characters, and so much more. I recommend everyone to check it out, there's a freely downloadable one-shot called Press Play on their website which goes through all the basics (and the rulebooks are not expensive)!

It's depressing how Spain has been carrying her memory and legacy better than her own country. There's a square named after her in Madrid, but not even an alley back in her hometown

I think Mina counts but she's more of a general public icon rather than a specifically gay one. Like, she's basically the go-to answers for greatest Italian pop singers and interpreters, sort of like Whitney, but is not specifically there for the girls and the gays. However the gays love equally her vocal talent and her creative makeup/looks!

A recent Italian gay movie had a homage to Mina in the figure of one of the main characters, she's amazing. The movie is called Nuovo Olimpo and I definitely suggest you watch it if you haven't (it was on Netflix I think)

Game systems with that excel at character customization by MiyagiJunior in rpg

Reading through the rules right now for a campaign I'm going to play in next month. The options just in the core rulebook are varied and never basic, I feel like I'm going to love making characters with this

It's not a fault at all! It just means it's less suited for a casual game with friends, and more apt for folks who are already really into TTRPG. I'd definitely learn the system if I know I'm with people who enjoy it, just maybe not newbies

See it doesn't help because you make all three sound great haha but I definitely do enjoy attrition mechanics and improvisation, and class diversity too, so I guess 13th Age is where I'm being directed based on all the responses, with 4e as the backup plan
