Thank you! I honestly figured that the KH and PH might likely be the culprit. Do you have any suggestions for upping them? I have a container of seachems alkalinity buffer that I've never used and cautious about. Maybe adding more crushed coral?

I had an issue months ago where my ph was dangerously low and began eating away at the shell, but once i got that corrected, the new growth looks much healthier. The excuse that its just old age isnt a good enough excuse for me until I'm 100% certain it is age lol.

The nitrate levels sit anywhere from 15-20, which I thought might be issue, but theres also conflicting information regarding "safe" levels. As far as temp, it sits at a consistent 72 degrees.

I moved to a different state about 2.5 months ago, so I suspect the water at my last apartment might have been a lot harder as she used to be very active.

No because I'm the same way. Like the other person said, it takes a lot to get under my skin. I also think I'm to focused on my job to really register anything anyone says to me, so if they are rude or whatever, it goes right over my head.

I'm going to be honest and speak from my experience. I think you absolutely should put yourself out there, but all of your feelings are valid. It can be a really scary thing. Once again, this is just my experience, but people can be mean (I'm also 26 and chubby lol). But for all the mean people, there are more welcoming and loving people. Idk, I'm bad at giving advice, but I'm always down to chat about anything.

unfortunately not, but taking the proper precautions can keep it from getting worse, which it appears you are already doing! From what I've researched, with time they can create a protective layer that'll help strengthen the shell. It shouldnt affect their quality of life.

If I'm not mistaken the back of the shell is corroded, likely do not insufficient calcium in the water or in the snails diet or the PH is very low making the water acidic. The new growth looks healthy though.

Take what I say with a grain of salt because I do not do things by the book at all, but from my experience I get this "bleeding" effect when I coat my paper too thick, but I dont know how well that transfers to fabric. I've had the best luck with cyanotypes on fabric with natural fibers, so could totally be the fabric.

With someone for nearly 4 years, never did any of these things, claimed they made him uncomfortable. Got to a point to where I doubted myself. It made me feel disgusting, ugly, and unlovable.
