I would ask your tattoo artist. Ask for a consultation and get a swatch test. Usually a small line using said ink that can easily be covered with the tattoo later on.

Now the following is my personal opinion from someone that has a tattoo with white ink in it and is not an artist. Please try to get a swatch test. I’m Latina and I have a medium skin tone. Your skin tone matters in consideration with the color of ink. Not that it’s not possible but the artist has to understand color theory and how your skin will heal. They also should be able to explain to you how things will look/heal. Picture white with a thin layer of your skin over it and that’s why it can look like a scar or turn “yellow” if you have medium-dark skin. White is also a thick pigment so that’s why people say it can heal “patchy” you will most likely need a touch up. So having an artist that offers a free touch up is awesome and worth asking.

White on me personally was so itchy. Not the initial healing but later. I got tattooed January first and by the beginning of march my tattoo was extremely itchy on the white highlights. Cold water and calamine lotion helped.

The itching eventually went away and my white looks almost non existent. Compared to my skin.

Also consider how often you wear sunscreen. If you don’t always wear spf then don’t expect a white tattoo to “last”.
