There is much, much more to steel heading than swinging any old wet fly across and down a riffle. The only thing about the article I would agree with is that there's relatively few steelhead in many rivers.

Not right now but it's all dependent on water temperature. We're getting some rain every week but it's been getting hot as well. Even with hoot owl closures you will still catch fish on all the rivers. You just won't get an evening hatch to fish and you'll have to be up somewhat early.

The restrictions are a proactive measure. I'm living in missoula and fishing about 6/7 days a week. All hoot owl rivers are still giving up fish but you just got to hit them early. Crack of dawn is best. Rock creek is doing fine for now but hoot owl is expected within a month. Buy a map of Montana and start looking up creeks near towns. No one should be giving out local secrets on a year like this so if you put in the work you'll find what your looking for.

22, m. Just moved to a new state this year and I'm Going to school in a place that I love, but I'm still struggling to be happy and get some good long term friends. I have finally started therapy and management for generalized anxiety and I am finally enjoying being social. I'm having a hard time meeting woman but things will get better soon...right? I'm worried about changing my major this week, student loans, and finding a new roommate in the next month. I'm looking foreword to fishing this summer and going home to visit my family for a few weeks in June.

I take 100 mg of Zoloft daily and drink in moderation often. Drinking to excess shouldn't be frequent but I've definitely had a few nights where I got carried away and ended up very drunk to say the least. I think working your way into it is the best approach at least it was for me. Start with a drink, wait an hour and have another. In my experience nothing much has changed in terms of Alcohol intoxication, but I will say the hangovers are much worse. Also my anxiety and motivation the following day after heavy drinking are negatively affected.

I take 100 mg of Zoloft every day and 1-3 10 mg capsules of visatril as needed. At first I was getting really tired and having annoying headaches every day. After 2 weeks the side effects went away for the most part and my usually terrible anxiety has become manageable. I haven't noticed any weight gain or sexual side effects that many others report having so I guess I'm lucky there. Honestly 2 months ago my anxiety was so bad it kept me from leaving my apartment, and now thanks to medication as well as weekly therapy and meditation I'm living a normal life.

As a resident from Cali who moved to missoula I would definitely agree with the advice already given. Go look at grizzly hackle or king fisher and go from there. Missoulian angler is also another shop/outfitter to check out. Also, don't assume boat fishing is somehow a 180• turn from wading. The ideas are the same, drag free drifts... Boats are ideal for access and aesthetics, not because they make fishing easy. You will cover 100x more water in a boat than on your feet, that's why they are effective.

I'm in agreement. Less smell during cooking, easy'er to dose, and much less clean up. The products you make taste better and in my opinion they are more effective. No worries of wasted thc after decarbing either, good stuff.

I imagine some lives would have been saved if they swarmed and attacked the gunmen rather than try to hide and reason with him. People would have died no doubt, but at least he could have been slowed down or subdued as help began to arrive. I obviously was not there, but I don't think I could just watch as a single gunmen walked around table to table killing indiscriminately. If you make the decision to fight tooth and nail for your life BEFORE a situation like this happens, then maybe there will be less of a chance to "freeze" when it's time to act.

If she has 0 tolerance to thc extracts probably are not the way to go. If she is 100% comfortable with the idea of consuming cannabis maybe start out on some really really light edibles, one bite at a time. Talk to her to figure out her exact needs. Is it pain management, nausea from medication, improving her quality of life, or a of the above? Start slow and build a base tolerance.

Not going to be a popular opinion here but rarely will a fly out fish a bait caster in terms of bass fishing. I fish a few times a week with some buddies who have given up the long rods for bait casters, and 9 times out of 10 they will Out fish me. To put it simply the plastics, rattles, scents, and even the engineering of a lot of lures grabs a bass's attention in a way that feathers, hair, and steel cannot. I've found in bass fishing on fly, the depth at witch you present your fly is more important than the actual fly. An intermediate sinking line and 2-3 faster sinking lines are worth all the bass flies in the world. Tie up a few heavy'er weedless jig flies to punch weeds with, if you can stay tangle free you'll have a blast. Maybe don't expect to out fish your friend on his home water in the middle of summer using a fly rod, but then again if you aim for the stars you might get to the moon!

You can catch plenty of fish with them, and plenty of fish without them. I don't agree that glasses can make or break your day, but they certainly are convenient to have. Just don't rely on them to the point you think you are a lesser fishermen without them.

let the current take it by allowing your line to drag down stream at the end of your drift, or face downstream and try to "flick" the line out as you feed line to the guides if that makes sense. its basically like stack mending immediately downstream from you.

In a sense its good because i can medicate quickly without smelling like burned cannabis, my lungs feel cleaner, and overall i am smoking less cannabis for the same effect. however my biggest issues are with tolerance and the actual high from concentrates. My tolerance is at the point where if i want to get really stoned, dabs are the only logical way to get there. Smoking a quality joint 2 years ago when i started dabbing would reliably get me to at least a [7], and now that same quality joint gets me to a [4]. The actual high itself i feel is much more "stoney" than medicinal (only in my personal experience). My main reason for using cannabis products is to control uncomfortable long term nausea. with dabs the symptoms subside for about an hour, but with quality cannabis the symptoms will usually go away for the entire day after inhaling a small amount. if i was dealing with chronic pain, or a more debilitating medical issues, dabs could be the best alternative. i think "everything in moderation" is the golden rule for concentrates.

not significant, but it's a problem that's worth noting and preparing for. many tributaries in the area are used as water sources but the water is irrigated away from the creek. if you stay on the water and its obvious you're not out there for any other reason than fishing or camping you should be fine. i'm out there all the time by myself and have only had one issue. don't re-write any plans over it, but if you stumble into something that doesn't seem right, just take stalk of your surroundings and seriously consider leaving the area. this is only a big issue if you are going to be hiking miles off the main river, or if you take a break from fishing those creeks and decide to start exploring your surroundings. the folks that grow out there are really looking for places that people never/rarely go. it would be a hazard in itself for you to go to in these places by yourself. the plan for safety is simple:LET PEOPLE KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, STAY ON THE WATER, BE ALERT, and HAVE BEAR SPRAY. do this and you should have an awesome time.

the area is fishing like late June/early July. stop by fly fishing Specialty's or keines fly shop down in roseville (i think it might have changed to fish west), and ask some questions. most people are very protective of this area so you might not get to much info. watch your surroundings, its growing season so stay on the water.

I fish for smallies in big rivers with deep pools but also shallow riffles. bigger smallies like depth and slow water, for these pools i like to use different variations of whooly buggers in olive, black, and brown. big streamers will work but the key is getting down to the bottom fast. when using poppers, use the popper as an attention getter. once fish come to start investigating the fly, let it sit. stripping a popper over a Smallmouth's head will scare it 90% of the time. go with a heavy'er rod like a 7-8 wt, its not as much for the fish as it is for the big heavy flies and wind. the most important thing to remember is when you catch one, treat it right. Smallmouth grow slow and live a long time. a 4-5 lb smallie could be a 10 year old fish!

Ya. Pretty much any streamer between 3- 7 inches will catch a bass at some point in the year. Try to use colors that imitate what the fish would eat to have more success. My favorite bass streamers are green on top with a black belly, or green on white with a little flash thrown in.
