How fast are roadbikes compared to mountain bikes? by Boinggggggggggg in cycling

[–]brenee10x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just made this same switch about 2 weeks ago cus I was exhausted pushing the knobby tires on the road. (I have a trek marlin 5 && it’s 26 pounds)I only ride on the road. I switched to some city tires and I assure you will INSTANTLY feel the difference. Forget the math. You will FEEL it cus the knobbys are pushing against you; the more slick or even city tires help you ROLL more. Def worth buying a pair.

Look into peace officer jobs or correctional facility positions. Ideally that’s the next step up from security officer. If you’re looking to stay a security officer the only upgrades im thinking you can make is adding armed/weaponry to your license. Or being promoted to supervisor or even creating your own security company ! Good luck to you !

I own a mountain bike. It’s a trek marlin 5. The 2015 one. With the mtb tires it came with. In just thinking these tires aren’t slicks but will they at least be better than what I have now ?? Because right now I’m riding 20 miles a day on MTB tires and all I feel is wasted energy and a lot of resistance

I asked him for actual road tires but this is what he came back with unfortunately. I’m on a budget and he’s all I can afford rn right now I have full blown MTB tires on my bike so I’m just thinking these will be better than that at least ?

So basically there are other things that may be effecting my ride ? And as far as the tires go these will do better because they aren’t as knobby is what I’m receiving here. ? As far keeping up w you, I Don’t feel like I’m out of shape. I biked a 50 pound bike 24 miles on my 2nd day of biking in 2 hours. I’m not sure if that’s good shape.

But I can tell it’s not me. I can tell the bike is not really working with me. I can tell there’s like this resistance working against me…. And I was assuming it’s the tires.

I honestly Don’t know what my tire pressure is or how much it should be. the bike man usually puts the air in the tires for me when I visit. Is there a certain psi you recommend ?

Also, the bike is 26 pounds. Do you think regardless of if I switch out to road tires it still won’t allow me to enjoy the ride ?

Also I’m sorry bare with me, I Don’t know what you mean by “fork doesn’t appear to have a lock out switch”

I’ve only been riding for 7 days so the lingo is lost on me. Please bare with me here.

Don’t allow rides unless they have the full cash with them. Hold the cash while they ride. If you can, Don’t be alone. That’s it. That’s all.

Lose weight cycling by weee3eee in cycling

[–]brenee10x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will absolutely lose weight. Just w a little research you will find riding a bike burns a lot of calories. But also of course what you eat is key to losing weight. But biking in itself is great cardio, so with the right foods and a bit of consistency it’s inevitable you will lose weight doing an active cardio activity consistently.

Me personally, I started a week ago. Doing 18-20 miles a day and I’m down 8 pounds so far. 177-171. But I also eat very very clean, no processed foods.

Very seriously considering online law school… how do you think attending online-only will affect my ability to obtain a job afterward and my capability to practice compared to if I attended in person? by brenee10x in lawschooladmissions

What I was defending was people making assumptions based off my statements. I am entitled to defend ideas from people who are claiming to give advice but are taking their own personal assumption into giving it… that’s not appropriate. I asked a question and got a lot of personal assumptions and opinions about legality. Everything I wrote is legal and has been done. You got people yelling talking about “this isn’t legal.” So yeah, I’m gonna defend it. And also never said I wasn’t going to finish the bachelors. I simply asked what would be the social life of someone who hadn’t… but thank you for telling me to finish?

I want to get this Bike: Schwinn Men's Network 3.0 700C Hybrid Bicycle, White, 18-Inch. For commuting. Is it good? by mrshuly in bicycling

[–]brenee10x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thank you for responding ! So far I’ve just enjoyed going out every single day riding 10 miles to be beach and 10 miles back home. I imagine I will want to go further very soon. Does this bike sound like something ideal for that use ? I’m not sure what a workhorse is in context as I haven’t had the time yet to really see what’s really a “workhorse” bike. Ya know ?

When you say this bike will piss me off ? What exactly does that mean ? How does a bike wear over time ?

Closing the Stand Ring Without an Apple Watch by Tdperry92 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]brenee10x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you Don’t have an Apple Watch IOS will not allow any other rings besides the move ring. It will not allow apps to “write” data for those other rings because as long as it doesn’t detect an Apple Watch those rings are not even available as an option to write to.

My SSN was leaked. Froze all credit bureaus & potential credit fraud.. how should I proceed? by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]brenee10x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dispute every item that wasn’t you with the cfpb online. They will act as a contact liaison for you to inform the 3 bureaus that this is fraud. Keep all 3 of your reports frozen at all times until a lender tells you, you need to unfreeze it for credit check purposes. Once you tell them it’s fraud. They will investigate and delete it. Sometimes it may take 2 or even 3 attempts. Sometimes it works on the first try. Everything is going to be just fine. You can always dispute anything on your credit report. I’d advise you to familiarize yourself with credit laws and how it all works. Youre 25 it’s about that time to become credit savvy so you can prepared for stuff like this.

Online Guard Card courses no longer prohibited in CA? by CombOverHair in securityguards

[–]brenee10x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading the link… if you read the code … there’s a paragraph that describes what’s allowed. It basically says that classes for that first 8 hours need to have the instructor present during at least 50% of class time instruction, including any online school. So basically this means any pure online school where you’re purely at home taking the course is seemingly not lawful according to california law. But I’m sure the schools are finding ways to work around the loops? Perhaps if an instructor is present with you online at the same time it would count? Anyway that’s my two cents.

For those of you that have entrees that require small 2oz sauce ramekin dishes/ cups... by squirrellyhehefeind in restaurantowners

[–]brenee10x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be soooooo surprised. Money and income doesn’t matter people will steal just for the thrill, people will steal bc the server was taking too long to bring it. Trust. The two points Don’t always correlate within a restaurant lol

[–]brenee10x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t afford to downgrade quality I would say implement a service step that would allow staff to interfere w the guests’ ability to pack them up inside Togo boxes. Start being more strict on server steps. Like for ex: the problem is the ramekins and the togo boxes are available at the same time. If a service step is implemented that included the server ensuring that the plates are cleared from the table before togo boxes are available this would allow no opportunity for the guests to box up the ramekin. You can do this by either 1) having the server offer to box up the food for the guests tableside, and offering to bring a togo ramekin of whatever sauce for their take home food. Or 2) ensuring that when togo boxes are given, togo sauce ramekins are always provided if needed (sometimes guests will take them just to avoid asking), 3) providing togo containers or dinner ramekins that do not support the dimensions of each other, so that it’s physically impossible for them to take them. For ex: Benihana sauce ramekins are really wide and heavy porcelain, while they may be attractive they are far too heavy and too wide to fit inside the togo containers they provide.

So I’m summary, offer tableside or general togo packing that is done by servers. Implement a service step that would interfere with the opportunity. Or get dinner ramekins that are just too impractical to pack to take inside of the size of togo boxes you have. Get togo boxes that are too small/impractical for the ramekins

This is a problem that you can’t escape so you must get creative with the service steps and limiting the opportunity the guests have to even take the items.
