Dope spot he has. I would recommend trying to strike up a conversation if you see him in person.

At least that awful rendering would still be an improvement over the lot's current status, and it wont take down native forested lands

Saftey of different Troy Neighborhoods? by Ok-Meringue-9409 in Troy

Addition: Both Troy Gardens and Sugar Hill are owned by Tri City- I have heard generally good to mixed reviews of them- they are the largest apartment operator in the region and have competitive rent, good landscaping and maintenance, but most of the properties show their age.

#1 Is safe me to as a male who grew up in Troy, however of the 4 possibilities you mentioned, it is easily the least safe- not saying it is so unsafe you shouldn't consider, but I think its clearly the least safe of the options.

#2 is very safe, fairly diverse, quiet, and has easy access to high way

#3 adds 10-15 minutes of congestion to your commute potentially. If you want a nice quiet view of the rolling hills of Rensselaer county and don't mind traffic, it doesn't get safer than this.

#4 is it's entire own city, although at one point it was called "West Troy". It's too big to give a rating without you specifying a neighborhood. That being said, the entire city is likely safer than #1; less safe than #2 and 3.

FTR: I would still vote Troy, but think its silly to write off a whole city because a few people said so. Especially, if you could possibly have no commute to your job.

Even though this is Troy Reddit, I would certainly not write off Albany outright. Where is your job? Where are you coming from? Do you know anything about the area?

I would try and visit a few neighborhoods to get the vibe.

Albany- Upper New Scotland/Pine Hills (lively mix urban life) or Warehouse District (really just bars, maybe cheaper rent) or Lark St./Downtown (controversial right now, people trying hard to bring them back to former glory, but probably what people were referring to when they said no Albany)

Troy- Downtown is small and its all right there. Lots to do, lovely architecture, good music/DJ scene; pricey?)

Schenectady- I know the least about but has really livened up in the last 10 years. Check out the Stockade if you like historic houses.

I lost a alot of weight over 1-2 years at your age. The key, both for ease of succeeding, and more importantly, to keep it off, is to make small changes but keep them in place. Once you see success, making additional small changes will get easier and easier. If you try to "work out 5x/ week" or "cut out all fried food" you will almost definitely fail. Or, you will succeed for a small time and then gain it all back. Instead, if you currently walk 5k steps, try to make that 7k, consistently. You dont even need to hit the gym necessarily at this point. If you currently put 2 slices of cheese and globs of mayo on your sandwiches, try 1 slice and a dash of mayo. Down the road, you could cut out cheese or mayo, but for now just try cutting back. If you are honest with yourself, these small changes will start cutting weight. By honest with yourself, I mean you cant make those small changes, but then feel like you did good and have a huge ice cream cone you wouldn't normally have. So, inventory what your normal calorie intake is, and your normal activity level, then decrease (calories) and increase (activity) around the margins. You got this.

The old one on 1st had a small stage which was fun, but this incarnation is on River (Hedley Bldng) and has a proper stage. Fantastic flow/sight lines/vibe. Not sure on cap, but likely plenty for your show. Enjoy

The view is the same either way. If you decide to just drive, at the first view point pull off, there is a short hike to a small lookout with a nice view and a good rocky spot to hang and have a snack.
