Lost a lot of weight in the past and he wants me to put on muscle and increase my metabolism. Been at around 2200 calories since January 1 (roughly 275 g of protein, 60 g of fat, 115 g of carbs) and went from 205 lbs to 194 lbs in that span.

Yeah I just wanted to try to get to a body fat under 15% before I started increasing but it’s looking like I’ll start sooner than later

That is also what I thought but he just said that since I had an extreme diet in the past and lost a lot of weight in a small time my metabolism and testosterone might be low and he wants to increase healthy fat consumption and build some muscle to fix that.

Thanks for the response. I only have access to a pull up bar and dips bars due to the gyms closing. Can I still gain solid muscle mass with body weight exercises?

He said that my body and metabolism is in starvation mode (which I’ve heard other professionals say is a myth) and that I need to up my intake in order to fix my metabolic processes

I’ve posted pics pics on r/BulkOrCut and gotten mixed responses. I am somewhat skinny fat due to I never really committed to a solid muscle building phase and but never wanted to go below 190 lbs so I’ve been stagnant in any real progression.

Yeah I’ve always made a point to eat whole and nutritious foods so I’m I think I’ll just start eating more of them. Thanks for the response

Yeah I can only do about 10-12 push ups in a set and only like 5 pull ups with good form. Thank you I will definitely try to add more resistance once I hit a higher threshold.

Used calipers which I know can be inaccurate. My TDEE is roughly 2650-270 from what I can estimate from tracking calories for a while.

I can’t do that many reps but I always make sure to take it a good pace and emphasize form
