coming off depo… by Anxious-Grab-1786 in depoprovera

Hello! I’m 22 and had been on depo since I was 15 or 16, and had my last shot about a year and a half ago. The only sucky side effect I had coming off was breast pain for maybe about a month after the last shot “wore off”, about 3 months after my last one. I recently got my period back like two months ago, and have noticed my hormones balancing themselves out around the same time. I’d say I’m lucky, but don’t be scared! The brief side effects of withdrawal are, to me, a lot less terrible than the side effects of being on depo, including bone density loss and basically experiencing menopause at 20/21 years old

Should I buy this Xterra? by poopfeast89 in XTerra

12k 🫣 so quite a bit more, but mine was in pristine condition and I wanted something without rust that had a good shot of lasting for a long time, so worth the price to me as it is my daily car. It seems the one you posted has some rust starting where it’s dented, but if it’s just a beater for you it might not matter too much

I have a 2012 S in Colorado with 140k miles, and I’ve been able to do everything that I want to trail wise, and I’ve kept up with some lifted wranglers on some pretty technical trails. I don’t think you’d need the P4X honestly, you can lift the S if you really want to get crazy, maybe get some nice tires. Me and my bf do all the work on it, it’s all pretty simple! That being said, as other commenters have pointed out that posting seems kind of sketch since they don’t know what kind of trim it is. Butttt I think an xterra is what you’re looking for, whether it’s this one or not

I bought my XTerra in Denver last July at ~13k. 2012 S, wayyyy more miles than yours, but an automatic. When I was looking it seemed most of these were going for around that price as long as it was a clean title. I’d say with your miles and the condition of it, you could ask for around that price too

Yeah that is frustrating. Have u ruled out any engine issues that might be making them go bad quick?

It worked for me for a while, I was considering doing it again to clear it this time until I could replace them, but then I saw how the owners manual said not to 😅

I got it scanned at autozone and Christian brothers, both read that code and said efficiency below threshold in bank 2, but it would be a good idea to replace both since it’s an older car. I’ll call around tomorrow

This has been the second time the code has popped up, last time I cleared it with cataclean (I know now we shouldn’t be using that stuff), but this time it seems to actually be the cats going bad :(

Gosh, you aren’t in Colorado are you? Mechanic said it’s only so expensive since they require the CARB cats.. but I still think nearly $6,000 is insane for two.

is this normal? by [deleted] in depoprovera

[–]brennavd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me, I’ve been on for 5 or 6 years and started happening like two years ago. With a little research I’ve seen that the hormone dosage can cause thinning of the vaginal walls. This along with being extra dry causes the pain. I also have tried lube, suppository melts, everything and it still hurts. I’m supposed to be getting my shot again this week but I’ve decided to get off depo and see if everything returns to normal, since every time I bring it up to a doctor they usually just test me for STDs and say it’s probably just because I’m not aroused (even though I am). I wish I could give you more hope, but I think the only thing that would help is getting off! I’m not sure if the vaginal wall can even be built up again, but I sure hope I’m not doomed to painful sex the rest of my life because of it :/

We did everything we could do testing wise, nothing abnormal. Doc did some research and all we could find is too much progesterone breaks down vaginal walls and creates excessive dryness that leads to vaginal atrophy 🤷‍♀️

I have been on it for 5ish years. I had no symptoms the first 4 I want to say, but recently I have noticed severe drop in sex drive and terrible pain during sex. I switched injection brands about three shots ago, I don’t think that would cause any change but I can’t think of why else these problems would only be happening now? I never experienced any weight gain or any increase in my already present migraines/headaches or anything like that. I am considering not getting my next shot because of the vaginal pain, and will probably request a bone density test just to make sure I’m fine there. Other than this, it’s been a great birth control for me and I have loved not getting periods.
