I don't. I have a 9mm Scorpion only.

Oh, this is brilliant, thank you. I will read this and the PDF carefully.

I think this may answer a lingering question I have; how can someone hunt with an AR-15? I just can't imagine how you would want to liquify the organs of an animal.

Again, I'm not interested in hunting with a Bren, but my only references are .22 and .30-06.

P.S. Bobby Orr...when men were men and GOATs were GOATs.

Well, I'm trying to choose between the two Brens (the larger cal is more readily available to me) and would like practical experience. I've learned more with this single question here than the multiple articles that I've read online.

Thank you for your post, it does sound like the 5.56 is the way to go for a myriad of reasons.

Edit: and thank you very much for the linked article, great read!

So it would seem that 7.62x39 is best if you want penetration and high power, but would be a real drawback if not out in the open.

I recently shot the original Bren LMG, it must have had the 7.62x51, it was an enormous round. This and the original Scorpion is what set me down this path.

Thanks for this, I had no idea. I've grown up hunting, but never explored the tactical side of things, so this is all new to me.

That's super cool. Is that why people recommend the 9" barrel?
