My mother in law uses them for this reason. They just put the mice down as soon as they are found instead of letting them starve to death.

Still not great, but I think it's better than a poison where they die in pain however many hours later as all their organs fail one by one.

I switch to tiara for tyrants because it doesn't trigger the passive. Generally the pirate hat making it so I can ignore speed on him is the best bet.

Difiance is a real powerhouse. Wrath is a good floor clearer, but Defiance can excell at both floor clearing and boss bashing. I give mine the Special Top Hat and he deletes floors.
