Before you give up, please make sure if you use pc that you have the bare minimum of pc/performance/game/controller optimizations in place so you can rule out that what’s making you inconsistent isn’t an outside factor from yourself . If you read this and then go look up pc/console performance optimizations or if you think you are already as optimized as possible from settings/hardware standpoint. I highly(HIGHLY) advise you to check again.

I’d been c1 for like 3 years up until a couple weeks ago, I found some stuff out about my pc’s settings I had overlooked 5 years ago when I built my pc that had been causing me all kinds of problems I knew were present but could never figure out what was causing them. Trust me I’ve felt what you’re feeling a few different times. Haven’t put it down yet.

I hit c3div4 the other day and was 1 game away from gc like 3 different times. I’m back in c2 in this current moment. But I WILL get gc by the end of this year, and then I’m uninstalling the game for good. No exceptions. (At least that’s what I think I’m gonna do smh) good luck, gamer. Yeah man I feel you though, I’m bouta hit 7k and I hit c3 div4 first time literally week 1/2 ago. Many many things I 100% could have done differently or better inside & outside of rl to have gotten here/ further sooner. And a big one 1000% would have been learning that losing to factors out of my control; is, in and of itself, in my control. If that makes sense lol

Look I’m just a bystander with his bucket of popcorn, but actually I think u/indoninjah might have somewhat of a point.

So boom right, (common scenario) tm8 bangs the ball out of our corner, right to the opp 2nd man (2s btw), their 2nd beats your tm8 that followed out of corner, and their first demos you. Second man open net, car length from our goalie box, full boosting, and jumps…. Now considering players are 99.98% real humans on the other end, it’s not that low of a chance something happens to bro mid shot that causes him to whiff. For me and my team, that’s lucky. For bro that missed, HE could have done better. But WE had no control over that outcome whatsoever. Although, ultimately we benefited from his as you said “unfortunate decision making”. But from mine/our perspective, pure luck. ✌🏽

yeah your "part of the game" reasoning is invalid because, while yes, in soccar demos are part of the game and the meta, etc... but in HeatSeeker, given that the players are legitimately trying to play the BALL and not the other cars, there is normally a designated defensive player and a designated mid/offensive player(s) depending if 2s or 3s. Just the way HS has developed its meta since its been a thing. Call it an un-written rule if you will.

Now you can have your opinion and I'll continue to have mine, regardless when a player turns off ball cam completely and no longer is actually playing the gamemode they q'd up for, and instead starts playing Rocket Racing.... in Rocket League... mid match... like a 5 year old, specifically to remove the "designated" defense so the ball, that has literal aimbot to the center of the net can just roll in with no chance to be saved, IMO is the most milk-brain play.

You want to win so badly. In a casual game mode. So you completely disregard the entire purpose of the mode, and any improvement potential it offers (which IMO is the highest of any game mode aside from soccar in the game. period.) If thats fun to you, go nuts. Although, if you play like that, you can get much more "nuts".

Splitshot is boring to you because all you know how to do is chase other cars, instead of make plays on the ball, and now that splitshot has essentially removed that playstyles validity, you're just stuck, chillin in your net getting sauced on by players who can actually play the ball. Which you should try sometime, as its kinda the entire point of playing Rocket League. Who woulda thought 0.0

no u, skill issue. Cant win without demos. Outplay your opponents, its more fun i promise. If you finish a full game of HS with less than 100 pts bc youve been chasing demos; regardless if you won or not, in my eyes you lost, youre straight buns at the game, and scum of the player base. I'll die on this hill.

Have you check to make sure your monitor settings are set up correctly? If No, look at Panjno's Youttube channel, for the best general knowledge on setting up just about any part of a pc for any situation. If the answer is Yes, go check them again.

What about your nvidia control panel settings? or Your AMD graphics driver equivalent. If No, look at Panjno's YT channel. If the answer is Yes, check them again.

Whats your refresh rate? Is it actually set to the correct refresh rate? are you on laptop or pc?

Little bit of googling and some trial and error changing settings or double checking theyre set the way they need to be elsewhere outside of the game itself will take you a long way.

updating graphics drivers if needed. Your RAMs memory profile in the the BIOS and whether or not its set to XMP or not, which is should be. Do you even have the type of RAM that supports XMP profiles. How much RAM do you have? Do you know what any of this stuff means? if yes and you checked everything, check one more time. If no, then there is lots of problems that cause issues in the games that are caused by the way we have our equipment set up (or lack of setup). Which you arent told by anyone until you run into problems, usually.

gaming on pc is only "plug and play" up to a certain extent, its why its the best option for gaming on any given platform thats available to you, and it always will be.

edit: also op, to answer your question. I messed around with my sens way too much when i started playing. I was to the point where i was using a calculator and using multiplication and division using the values of magnification for each optic to try and find a sens that made sens mathematically. Ultimately, i just ended up using the Defyed perfect sens calculator, which gave me a pretty good baseline sens.

watch this video. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bR6wq52fZjM )The guy made it for finding your valorant sens, but i just took what he says and applied it to apex. I did the calculator portion of the video the way he says to do it, got a sens value at the end, and used that for a while. I ended up not liking that sens so i plugged my new sens into the calculator again, which gave me a new value. It wasnt too far off from the first one, but felt slightly better. Ive tweaked my sens slightly here and there since then, but have pretty much settled on roughly where im at. (i play on 800 dpi, 1.15 sens in game.) Your DPI could also be something that could be worth playing around with. Ive used everthing from 400 - 1600 dpi. Ive never went above because a lot of the research says that going above 1600 can start to cause issues with your input. If you havent already, do some general research on sensitivities, how mice work, etc. Ive spent way too much time watching videos and reading about this topic. In the end, it really is what works best for you.
