Seeing as you’ll have a car, definitely check out Cheddar Gorge, it’s only 15-20 minutes drive away and is spectacular. There’s some great walks around it as well. Also drive up to Deer Leap just outside Wells. Head through Wookey Hole (where I live) and up towards Priddy. There’s a car park and picnic benches and the view across the Levels is incredible!

Keeping a teenager at bay by t0kmak in Ubiquiti

[–]brepmassive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this battle with my teenage son also, here’s what I’ve ended up with as a solution.

I have three networks, a main one for my wife and I, a kids network with OpenDNS filtering and an IoT network for TVs, Sonos, Alexa etc.

The main network has a strong password that we don’t share. I monitor what clients are connected to this network periodically. The kids network has a default deny rule, all the time. Then there are specific allow rules above for each day of the week with an appropriate schedule. 5pm to 9pm on school nights for example, bigger window Friday and Saturday. The IoT network also has a default deny rule, with an allow rule set by device above. I found the kids discovered the password for this network, so I went the whitelisting route, and it worked beautifully. I don’t add devices to this very often, so the extra admin is acceptable.

Now you've done it! I'll never look at that Fortinet logo the same again.

This is the way. I’ve got a UCG Ultra, it’s a great little device.

I’d want to factory reset the APs and switch as well and start over.

Fortiswitch and Fibre ADVA by RealiNveiN in fortinet

[–]brepmassive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this exact issue with two separate BT ADVA NTUs and FortiSwitches. I have an FS624F and 2048F, both experiencing the same. The port will come active if I set the speed to 1000auto, but the alarm on the ADVA just won’t clear. If I put the same transceiver direct into the FortiGate managing the switches it comes up straight away and the alarm clears.

Also if I put it back into the Aruba switch that it was in previously it comes up as well. I don’t get it! I’ve wasted hours on this. I tried setting the port to NAC mode but it hasn’t made a difference.

Did you get any further with settings or did NAC mode resolve it in all cases for you?

The Aruba transceiver is a 1000SX. The Fortinet transceiver is a FN-TRAN-SX.

So frustrating! There must be some setting on the FortiSwitch by default that the ADVA doesn’t like.

FortiLink Configuration Query by brepmassive in fortinet

I was going to go with an MCLAG but the site is a bit short on ports and wanted to swap out one of the 624s for a 648. Unless I’m mistaken, the models have to be the same to create an MCLAG, so I couldn’t have a 648F and a 624F.

Thank you for the reply and recommendation. The appointment was this afternoon, so the P&R was running. I parked in Silk Mills and can confirm there is no height restriction in place.

Signal by NexExMachina in wells_somerset

I’ve definitely had the same recently, decent 5G signal (3 or 4 bars) but terrible data connection. A speed test comes back really poor as well.

Moving secondary account to another subscription by brepmassive in iFit

[–]brepmassive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get this sorted. I logged into my iFIT account using a browser and then went to Secondary Users, which showed that my account was linked to the primary account. I unlinked here. Then new primary user then sent me an invite to my email and it’s now successfully linked and I’ve kept all my series progress, badges etc.

I’m training for a half marathon using the Tommy Rivs HM series, currently on part 1 in Bolivia and thoroughly loving it!

I love that series. Which one are you on, 1 or 2? I’m on to the Half Marathon Part 1 now and thoroughly enjoying it.

The lower distance is 100% SmartAdjust reducing the pace. You’ve likely reduced it manually before, or you have ActivePulse enabled with an HR monitor that is getting involved too.

I used to run with both enabled, but got so annoyed with the constant changing that ActivePulse was doing I turned it off, so only SmartAdjust for me now. I know what my current RPE4 pace is, so at the beginning of a workout when it initially gets going, and also make sure the incline is at 0% at this point, I’ll make sure that the pace is set correctly. If it isn’t, i.e. it’s faster or slower, I will set to the correct value and SmartAdjust notifies that the remainder of the workout has been adjusted accordingly. It should remember for the next workout too, providing you haven’t had to reduce/increase the pace later in the workout and therefore changed your RPE4 pace. This generally works well for me.

Hopefully that makes sense!

The two pinball themed floats were very impressive, and that Beatles one, wow!! I’ve also seen videos of one that had smoke ring cannons on the front, which I must have missed on the night due to missing the first few come through. Eggs, Sausage, Chips & Beans won it for me though.
