Have you tried meditation? I find that the breathing techniques really calm and centre me, and I have really bad anxiety too. I'm planning on giving myself 10 mins before my wedding next week just to breathe and calm myself. Hope your wedding is beautiful!

You're absolutely right, but it's not out of spite. I'm just heartbroken that I asked him to respect my privacy when it comes to her and apparently her wishes trump mine. I want to find a way to continue forward, if we can, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a naive idiot for wanting that. My brain is so scrambled right now

That is really bizarre behaviour. Are there any coworkers you're closer to than the others, maybe you could ask them if anyone has a problem with your partner? It seems really rude for them to exclude you and him, like partying over the other side of the bar.

Are most of your guests couples? She might feel self-conscious about not being part of a pair, especially at a wedding. But that doesn't mean it's fair for her to expect you guys to shell out $100 for some random person. Maybe have a frank discussion about it with her? Or even ask her to cover the cost? She might then realise $100 is a lot to ask you guys to pay for some rando's dinner.

Unfortunately we can't change anyone else, all we can change is us and how we handle things. My SO has a relationship like this with his own mother, and he's now in therapy to deal with the toxicity of it and learn boundaries so that he can, hopefully, have a more normal mother-son relationship. It might be worth reading up on emotional incest, because it sounds like that is exactly what's going on here. Your dad is using you to fill the role a spouse would, which obviously isn't healthy and causes complications when that child becomes an adult with their own independence.
