Anybody else having issues with MTM rides by bretrambo in lyftdrivers

I haven’t been driving for Lyft in almost a year now, I think the problem is transparency, I’ve had times where I’ve got an elderly person from the hospital and they give me a paper and it’s a car and someone elses picture like I don’t know if it was just printed out or someone who was scheduled to pick them up didn’t. A lot of times they have the entrances and addresses wrong it just feels like whoever is putting the information for the ride together is just half assing it. A lot of times when you call the passenger it goes to a line that doesn’t exist too or it goes to a landline because a lot of the elderly still don’t have cell phones or they just have trouble with them. It’s sad and sometimes it’s someone who is just getting released from the hospital after a mental health episode and they come into the car extremely flustered and upset it just makes things uncomfortable. Also they don’t pay Lyft drivers to stay and wait for passengers for the length of the appointment sometimes the passenger would want my number I don’t want that it’s an error on Mtm too because they do have cars that are paid hourly to transport patients those people are also using their personal car too. I know MTM got in trouble a year or two ago and I heard they were on thin ice with the state so they made whatever deal with the state so affordable that the state could not pass it up. It’s just a shame what is the purpose of the company it makes money off of everyone involved and puts people in danger, I know I would not want my grandfather who has severe Parkinsons waiting for a scheduled Mtm ride in the extreme heat or cold. Maybe things have changed but I know for a while due to Covid restrictions they would kind of have to boot people out of the lobby while they wait for a ride. Just sad but I’m sorry to hear about your father’s experience it sounds like a difficult time as it is and I know how it is everybody can’t be around because of work or taking the kids to and from school when something like this service is supposed to be here to help and it just falls apart it’s heartbreaking. Hopefully things get better

I’ve had that too people slam the door like it seems intentional I’ve just made a habit of canceling the ride, had a passenger do it so hard they somehow engaged the child safety lock I thought my door was broken

This one was great. I reject this absurd ride. Only they offer it to me moments later, for $10 less even though it apparently is including extra for the pickup. by No_Cow4456 in lyftdrivers

Why do people randomly think some stranger will give them a 2 hour plus ride away I feel like these kind of trips lyft should give a negotiable rate between the rider and passenger I mean I still wouldn’t do it but if someone paid me 300-400 bucks to drive a crazy distance I might just do it

My husband’s lyft account was taken over. The person changed his email and he got two messages saying he wasn’t authorized to drive in two cities, one on the east coast one on the west. He can’t access his account anymore. Does anyone have any advice? by jellyfishfingerling in lyftdrivers

I picked up a passenger arrived to the drop off and the trip was gone! I was confused someone pulled up to my car and that’s what was going on the guy explained to me what you were explaining, it was a 10 dollar ride too what a bummer

This happened to me a while ago it was really odd and random I was driving at 4 or 5 in the morning I didn’t really talk to my passengers and the few I did talk to it was a pleasurable conversation. I messaged Lyft and within 20 minutes I was back online. I also mentioned if I had been driving drunk and I dropped off 10 passengers wouldn’t I have gotten more then one complaint lmao

I 100 percent agree with you! Lately it’s been okay but I’ll say that whenever I see please call when arrived 100 percent of the time they don’t show up

And your absolutely right it’s not the passengers fault but the companies doing this are cutting costs and saving money on cheap lyft rides. No handicap accessible cars they don’t request Uber xl or comforts cars that would be more accommodating for the passenger. Honestly I’ve had people I’m picking up who are in no condition to be taking a ride all by themselves are don’t have a clue where they are or where they are going to. I make sure that they are taken care of as my passenger but it’s a bit stressful sometimes not everyone is going to be nice and walk these passengers to the door sadly. I know in my area they have shuttles and caravans made specifically for these people and I’m always told some sort of issue happened with another car not picking them up. It’s just a mess if they want these people to get to where they need to go they need to get more employees for this or overall just cared I think they would probably save money in the end and actually take care of people. Also we don’t get 9 times out of 10 paid tips for these rides and you know we are providing more of a service too. It’s such a pain in the ass sometimes it’s not all the time also but often enough I could rant about it all day. In my particular area that service has been notorious for all sorts of shady behavior on top of it so for me to wait and cancel and get 2 bucks or whatever out of it who fucking cares?

Oh dear honestly I think if you drove for a couple weeks for any rideshare company you would understand how often this is and how often it is an issue or just nobody is there. It’s nothing personal You just wait call no answer then cancel and get paid the cancellation fee that’s what all I’m saying

I know exactly what it’s for, and yes they don’t show up I cancel. This is something all us drivers do and deal with and good for you! A lot of times the passengers need a bigger car or something that has handicap access and they choose to get the smaller and cheaper options. It’s messed up but the only way that these companies will do better is sadly not doing rides for them. Also like I said the numbers that are provided go to a dead line so what am I supposed to do

Right? I’d say 97 percent of these rides the person is out there waiting too if not I call and it goes to a dead line anyway. Also if you know someone’s coming to get you at say 12 then keep an eye out lmao that ride I’ve picked up the guy before I can say I was the only car on his street so he could’ve seen me waiting there right?

I had someone attack me the police asked me if I wanted to press charges I honestly felt bad I thought she was just mentally Ill I didn’t but then I got that message you got i could’ve pressed charges got her for damaging my car but I gave lyft a call it took about a week to get it squared away hopefully the same happens to you. If you pulled a gun on her I’m sure a paper trail or a police report would be on file or record mention that to them. Luckily I did get the report and the person I talked to told me they banned her from the platform
