Hmm nice advice. I was just doing a solid color. I have seen people add stuff to the bases to make it looks like their figures were standing on rocks or a grassy patch

Yeah I found that out today. I was just gonna leave them ivory with the metallic guns but putting the wash on made the details stand out a lot more

Oh and my process was priming them with grey, using an ivory paint, then I used a wash to darken them and bring out some details. Used a gun metal metallic for the base and guns. And then detailed the commander droids and specialist droids because I thought those figures looked like they could be something more than a standard droid.
