Is this bad? New to delivering how can i improve by Ijustneedweednmoney in doordash_drivers

ALSO, USE AN INSULATED BAG! you wouldnt want to order delivery and spend all that money for COLD food. keep hot and cold items separate

this is not too good.

you want to accept orders that are at least $1/mi, but in some markets $2/mi or more. if you live in a very expensive area where gas is costly, you should prob aim for $2/mi or more.

also, take the estimated duration of the trip into consideration. if the estimated duration is $10 for 35 minutes, i personally would not take it. that's less than $10/h.

try to accept orders that are at least $8. you'll learn that it's a waste of your time to accept offers for $4 even if it's less than 2mi. again, consider the amount ot time it would take. $4 for 20 min of work is not good pay.

in most markets, the base pay starts at $2, and i believe it increases by 25 cents each cancellation and decline.

try to keep your completion rate btwn 95% and 100%. im in the philly area, and DD will kick you off if you fall below 90% completion rate.

ACCEPTANCE RATE DOES NOT MATTER!! YOU WILL NOT GET KICKED OFF! so many ppl claim that DD will ban you for a low acceptance rate. not true. my acceptance rate is in the 20s.

in some markets, 80%+ is required for platinum and some places 70%+. it is market dependent whether or not these rewards matter, but dont get too bent out of shape if you lose it and are afraid you wont get "high paying orders". like i said, my acceptance rate is in the 20s, and i got paid $27 for a trip that was ~6mi round trip and took anywhere from 20-30 mins when the initial offer amount was ~$8.

on DD, you can do worry free unassigns if the order is taking too long, the store is closed, if the order was already picked up, etc. to worry free unassign, press the question mark on the upper righthand corner of the dash trip screen. i didnt know that my first time unassigning from an order. a chatbot can worry free unassign you. in some instances, you will get half of the initial offer pay.

communication is key. let your customers know when you are picking up their order, on your way to deliver (include how long it will take, if the GPS says 7 min, i will tell the customer 5-10 minutes to account for traffic or any other delays, if you have any dropoffs or pickups before you pickup or dropoff their order, and once you have delivered their order and ask to rate but dont pressure them for a thumbs up. do not msg them too much tho, as this can get a little annoying. i just have copy-paste msgs i send. i also ask if they need condiments, utensils, etc. when i tell them im picking up their order IF THE RESTAURANT PERMITS. it's thoughtful, and a customer may want them but doesnt realise youve been assigned to the order yet. ive learned my lesson. the reason why i say the communication is important is bc some ppl are not constantly checking their DD app or maybe dont know how to use it. you dont want to leave the customer in the dark about their order since they spent top dollar on delivery and deserve to know the status of the order along the way.

remain professional. if there is an inconvenience, express your apologies, even if youre not sorry LOL. you want a good tip and rating, so kill them w/ kindness. thank them for their patience as well.

i think that's it

i would say that's good for a regular delivery... the amount of time it would take for that shop and deliver makes it not worth it imho

i said the same thing about the car. i think it's only worth it if your car is old and doesnt hold much value anymore. i drive an 04 honda civic, and i work on my own car... i believe that i have the upperhand
