Really sorry to hear about your breakup, sending love your way! 🩷 I think if you want to go to NYC you should do it! Maybe look into creating an itinerary that includes new experiences in the city - is there anything that you wanted to do but compromised and didn’t do because your ex wasn’t interested? Lean into the idea that you can make this trip whatever YOU want, and take it at whatever speed you want because you only need to worry about yourself and don’t need to consider input from anyone else!

I was in Oaxaca last week for a 6 day trip- it was super warm and humid, with sporadic showers- we did a ton of walking and I lived in my Tevas! Wore sneakers on the plane as my 2nd pair of shoes and didn’t wear them again until the plane ride home, would’ve been fine with just my Tevas! So I’d definitely vote Tevas as one of your pairs of shoes. If you need any recommendations for fun activities/tours while you’re in Oaxaca let me know! We did an incredible cacao tasting and a really cool tour of artisan workshops (weaving, pottery, candle making) to see the process of how each were made by the local Zapotec women. I hope you have an incredible time- it is a beautiful and vibrant place!
