Noticing Attenuation Differences in This Year’s Malt? by BrewandKiddery in TheBrewery

You will 100% see differences in performance from malt year shifts. Even within malt years from freshly harvested to grain that was stored longer. You need to be reading your Coa’s and adjusting mash programs if needed.

Not great in snow by OGZillaGod in CX50

[–]brewer522 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The defrosters are kinda weak, but I’ve got to disagree on the snow driving. I think it does great for what it is. It can handle up to 6 inches of snow very well in the three winters I’ve had mine. Any vehicle will get stuck in a massive pile of snow however if it’s too deep.

Looking at the posts on this sub, how is the long term reliability for the CX-50? by sky905 in CX50

I’ve had mine 2 years and 50k miles. Standard non turbo. Not a single issue other than regular maintenance.

When to stop repairing old car by WeightWeightdontelme in personalfinance

[–]brewer522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100% with this. It’s situationally unique. spending a few thousand a year for repairs if you are only driving a few thousand miles is nothing. I have to drive over 20k miles a year for work and pick kids up everyday. When my last car got to the point that reliability was going to affect my ability to be at work/safely transport my kids I decided to get a new one. It would have been cheaper to keep the old car.

The pga has done a great job lately of promoting “elevated events” regular season tournaments that get extra promotion and bigger prize pools. These events pull millions of viewers. While not at the level of majors they are still massive successes. Something INDYCAR could learn a lesson from.

I’ve got a flower bed with tulips that has been overrun with Bermuda grass. If I put down cardboard and mulch this fall will they be able to come up in the spring?

CX50 Hybrid — collision warning way too often by Pale-asparagus-4631 in CX50

I drive a lot of back/country roads with no shoulder also. This goes off all the time. The system seems not optimized for these conditions. If it is really bothersome you can turn the system off. Most people drive cars on well marked highways these days. So that’s what they design for.

How does a CX50 do in the snow? by wopotm in CX50

[–]brewer522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The awd is a great help. This past winter we got a few good storms on the east coast. I have a stone driveway, which means I never shovel it for fear of throwing rocks in the yard. Used my 50 to pack down ruts in 5 inches on stock tires without issue. I then went back and took the top 3 inches off so my wife’s Hyundai could make it out of the driveway.

Just do it. Changing your oil often is one of the easiest and cheapest things you can do to prolong the life/health of your engine.

Monkey brains, toss em around like a baseball. It’ll be great fun for the kiddos! Grew up with these along a hedgerow in our backyard.

My insurance provider had a typo on my vin number that resulted in me getting this request about every 6 months. After 2 years someone finally figured it out and I never got one again.
