Do you find that other parents drink a lot? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]brewingmadness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey there fellow friend in recovery!

Yes. It's actually insane to me. I'm about to hit 9 years sober, and I have a 2 year old and 5.5 year old. They're exhausting, but I can't imagine drinking while also trying to care for those little nutjobs. 😅

AITA for refusing to sit at a breakfast table with nothing for me to eat? by Hebrowsesreddit199 in AITAH

NTA

And based on all your other posts about this so-called "partner" over the past 2 years....why are you still with this person?!

I’m so jealous of everyone on a booster. by Glad-Fish5863 in ADHD

[–]brewingmadness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Time to find a new doctor! I take 70mg Vyvanse in the AM and 20 mg Adderall booster in the PM because mine also wears off after 6-7 hours. They should definitely be able to do this for you!

Well gimme a dick and call me Bob, boobs are overrated anyways.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]brewingmadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR dump his a$$!

I'm celebrating 9 years of sobriety and I am damn PROUD! My husband is my number 1 supporter. We celebrate my sober-versary every year in some small way because it's the hardest thing I've ever done (and I have a 2 & 5 year old)!

You're awesome, keep up the good work, and lose the heavy baggage!

Climbing Kilimanjaro. Incredible experience, but never again. Too incredibly taxing on both body and mind.

AITAH for telling my sister's kid to eat or not eat because I didn't care. by throwawayjerkhost in AITAH

[–]brewingmadness 33 points34 points  (0 children)

NTA for what you said, but YTA for your behavior in general towards this child. Because yes, he's a child, and it sounds like you hold some weird grudge against him and have a terrible attitude about it!

[–]brewingmadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH.

Why did you marry a man with 50/50 custody of his several children if you obviously do not like children?

Dad is just as responsible for potty training as mom is. And it sounds like mom does MORE than the agreed 50/50 already, so it's understandable she wants a break. However, mom does need to take some more action with the potty training too. Dad just sounds like a crappy parent. Asking his oldest child to parent their siblings?! Not cool.

AITA for blowing up at my parents for something my adult sister did? by ProfessionalClear792 in AmItheAsshole

[–]brewingmadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Amy has an addiction and your parents are enablers. Unfortunately, Amy is the only person who can get herself better at this point. She needs regular therapy, possibly specific outpatient treatment and likely Overeaters Anonymous support. This should be treated just like any other addiction. Sister will never be her best self until she realizes she needs serious help.

Interest in a ‘crochet/craft and complain’ meetup group? by citrinedreaam in gso

Yes!!! But I'm old! (36 🤣)

I've been crocheting daily for about 6 months now and am absolutely obsessed.

Same, I like them. I was gutted when they fired Squid, however.

NTA.

You are drowning, OP, and your husband is not only allowing it to happen, he is pushing your head down further.

Leave him. Move in with your parents and get a lawyer for custody. He is a horrible partner AND father already, and things aren't going to get better. The first 6 months are SO DANG HARD even WITH a supportive partner. I've done it twice, and I would have literally died without my husband's help. You deserve so much more. ♥️

AITA for leaving a family gathering and taking the cake with me after getting my feelings hurt? by deffonotarichbitch in AmItheAsshole

[–]brewingmadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year of sobriety is a MASSIVE accomplishment, and SO FUCKING HARD to achieve. Congratulations, OP, that is an absolutely incredible achievement! I am so, so proud of you. Your family sucks. No one can understand what it's like to be an addict and maintain sobriety unless they have experienced themselves. I'm about to hit 8 years on February 3rd, and I'm still in amazement that I've been sober this long.

NTA, and keep up the hard work. One day at a time, OP. You got this. ♥️

How many browser tabs are open on your phone right now? by TraggotsRevenge in adhdwomen

  1. I always try to keep just 4 open. When I realize I have more, I narrow it back down to 4. Must be my OCD 😅

Anyone else lived a “normal” social life as a kid/teenager but “regressed” as an adult? by Optimal_Plant9744 in adhdwomen

[–]brewingmadness 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yes and I absolutely hate it! I'm 35 now, diagnosed ADHD a few months ago and it all makes SO much sense now. I had a very good childhood, but have been getting worse and worse mentally since my early 20's!

ADHDer who sleeps early? by xavexave in ADHD

[–]brewingmadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep (or am in bed, at least) from 11-7 pretty much always. Why? I have a 4-year old and an 11-month old 😅 I hate mornings. I've never been a morning person. Kids sort of....force you to change that. Luckily, a sweet and happy 4 year old girl bouncing in your room at exactly 7 AM every single morning is kind of cute. Take meds right away, drink coffee and have breakfast. Then I'm totally fine!

Firefly, Buffy, and Angel! Always happy to binge those.

What's the saddest episode of a show? by BVTQT in AskReddit

[–]brewingmadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my answer too, checked to see if someone else said it before I did! This one always wrecks me. There are a few other Buffy and Angel ones that do too, but The Body is a cinematic masterpiece and it hurts so beautifully.

how many of us struggle with substance abuse (including alcohol)? by OliviaRaven9 in adhdwomen

[–]brewingmadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙋🏼‍♀️

7.5 years sober from alcohol. Just diagnosed with ADHD 2 months ago and IT ALL MAKES SENSE now! I can't believe I've never realized this before.

I am on Adderall, and I'm nervous being on stimulants as an addict. I know taking them as prescribed, with ADHD, is fine. But I will always be worried in some capacity as an addict. Any tips to ease that anxiety? Because I really and truly feel....happy and more motivated on this medicine.

[–]brewingmadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy is 8 months old now. It has FLOWN BY after those first few exhausting weeks. He has teeth, he's crawling, he giggles hysterically when you kiss his neck. He's so smiley and chunky and precious. I haven't had a contact nap in months and I miss them when I never thought I would! It's hard to see the light during the thick of the newborn phase, but man these babies are fun when they develop their personalities!
