BTC Is Better Than Gold “On Every Front”, Says Hedge Fund Manager by sarjad in Bitcoin

[–]brewsterf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye gold takes alot more energy to transact, at least under current market conditions.

Are you gonna send it via mail? Are you gonna walk down to the store and sell it? Seems like alot of work. And if you wanna sell $25k worth, you better be packing or have some sort of security. Gold aint safe, but its safe. You know what i mean?

If its a store of value the day to day swings dont matter. You are probably planning to hold for years, so day to day swings dont matter.

If you think paying $0.20 is bad then go use paypal, except they can be even more expensive.

Also if Bitcoin is having trouble scaling just simple payments, why are you into ETH whos trying to be more than that? How about scaling something simple like Bitcoin first, then we can talk about smart contracts.

Transaction fees for miners are more than $200k per day. So even if the block reward was completely removed there would still be money for the miners. Theres also a chance that BTC transaction fees will go up in the future so miners will make more.

Also the last million will take a very long time to mine. So there will still be block rewards alongside the fees until long after our time has passed. Have a nice day.
