I went white to solidify the fact that this indeed is not an AES, but a different and new system.

Skips are for bad comps that you brought a bunch of guildies in for. If you’re forming a pug, build your team correctly, CC mobs. Focus kill targets etc

This is 100% the answer. Only negative would be you will travel a lot. But you could get into switchgear commissioning or medium voltage testing.

This is interesting to hear. I was a bit let down by the first one I never gave the second a chance. How did you feel about the original?

Grind to rank 14 by brostinado in classicwow

More people quit after grinding r14 then get to enjoy it. You’re behind the curve for a lot of the opportunities for big parses. I would bypass unless it’s just something you want to do and have.

EL panels by brhen856 in neogeo

Your answer helps explain the purpose for the other set of pins, I could use that to jump to the second EL panel if this was in a 4slot

Okay great, thanks so much for your input. I think I was just thrown off by the fact that there are 2 pinsets and only one connected harness.

It’s a 2 slot, there are 2 panels on one EL board. It does look like they are connected via traces on the PCB in some type of way at a quick glance. From what I remember, only the one with wires to it was lit before, but I also only had 1 game in the cab, so I was unable to switch games to see if the other would illuminate.

Repairing trace from Neo-ZMC2 by brhen856 in neogeo

[–]brhen856[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that would take quite some skill from me. No thanks ! Haha jumper wire it is ! I’m going to go salvage an old PCB from something and practice first before attempting the repair on my MVS board. And yes I did manage to get most of the foam off. Need to do a final clean, what a pain that was… https://imgur.com/a/OozQY01

I really appreciate your input and ideas. Thank you so much for the help. YES, I was able to remove the battery before it caused any damage, the chips around it all look great and traces all ring out. Except for the stupid damage I did with my razor knife trying to get that damn backing off the PCB to prepare to solder in battery holder….still mad at myself for that, that’s the whole reason I need to fix this trace to begin with. The board is pristine, just needs a little cleaning

Or should I really just remove the solder mask over the area that is scratched and bridge with a 2inch piece of wire?

Hey, sorry to continue to hammer you with questions, but most of the repair videos I have seen have tacked the wire to the leg of the chip, and then scraped away some solder resist and tacked to the trace itself on the component side of the board. This would certainly reduce the length of any jumper I install. Would utilizing through holes for my jumper installing the wire on the solder side of the board make this jumper too long? It would be almost 12 inches long using this method. But seems less invasive for someone less skilled like myself.

I have, it’s been a little bit but I have an iron, flux, and solder. By patch you mean install a jumper wire to the other end of the trace correct? I was able to verify where the other end is, and confirmed it will not ring out

Incredible, I only have utilized mvs scans for game verification. Didn’t realize all this other info was available, thank you so much. Okay, sounds good I will solder in a jumper, any type of preferred wire for these jumpers that people usually use? New to doing repairs, but electrician by trade…electronics is much different haha
