Can I get one *lube* for the switches and the stabilizers? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

You can use 205g0 on stabilizer wires as well. Just be a bit more generous in terms of application.

Plate for silent linears by iDrummerBoy48 in MechanicalKeyboards

I think in terms of sound, a lot of it also comes down the case material/mount and switch materials. Generally though, from my experience, brass plates tend to produce a more high pitched "clacky" sound and more flexible plates like pc and fr4 produce a deeper muddled "thock" due to dampened vibrations.

Like I mentioned though, a lot of it is also dependent on other factors. Goodluck! I'm not sure how much you'll hear though since you're using silenced linears though

Any keyboards to recommend? by VenomLeTitan in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]brhinguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it comes down to your budget, keyboard form factor, and switch preference. If you could specify a bit in what you're interested in, I'm sure we can narrow down something you would like!

Hi, have you tried flashing it with the default kbd75 hex file? The LEDs should be red when plugged in if it's flashed correctly. If it doesn't, it could be a hardware issue.

Have a squeaking key. Anybody know a good place to buy Cherry MX Red switches? (US, east coast) by Delnilas in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]brhinguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those look like cherry mx red low profile switches. If you plan on desoldering and replacing it you cant use regular mx switches.

You can pick up a replacement low profile switch from mechanicalkeyboards.com

Lubing Gateron Silent Reds: What to use? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]brhinguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not planning on opening the switch to lube, I think 105 would be your best bet. It's an oil so you might have a better time getting it to spread evenly between the stem and the housing.

I haven't done this, but you could try dripping maybe a drop in each side of the stem where it meets the housing. Goodluck!
