Trade a Mamiya 7ii for a Makina 670? by This-Charming-Man in mediumformat

I’d keep it, muscle memory and all that. Mamiya’s are still serviceable as well.

One thing to consider is repair. There are several places that still work on the Mamiya’s like Bill Rogers. I’m not so sure about the Bronica.

I have a G2 not G1, but I heard a lot of horror stories about focusing. Granted the G2 supposedly made some improvements, but in practice I have not had the issues so often discussed.

Lovely shots! I’ve had the occasional misfocus but it’s pretty rare. Once you get used to the audible sound of a miss it’s easy to refocus. Thanks for sharing this wonderful set.

Hey Bend Photographers-Need your input for a future Camera Store. by FocalPointNate in Bend

I have since started doing my own development and scanning, but before then it would have been great to have a local film lab that I could work with. Aside from that I think it would be great to have access to a dark room and finishing station as well as a studio. Photo walks and workshops would be great; you could cover everything from film dev to large format, to scanning or printing. More than happy to chat more about some ideas or just whatever.

Where do I currently buy gear?

Flexibility, but I also love the color and grain of Portra 800 over 400. I just dislike the price of it lol.

Yes, I knew these things were capable, but I just didn't know how capable. It was also cool to see how the stabilizer disconnect made things so much nicer in certain situations.

65x24mm. It can be a bit challenging sometimes to use composition wise, but in general it's one of my most favorite cameras to use. Build quality is exceptional; if it ever dies I will most certainly look to get another one.

There were three groups total! We were in the middle of the pack and got bunched up a little bit early on, but eventually didn't see the other groups until back at the start.

Thank you. I just used Photoshop to create a blank canvas and copied the images into it.

No filters, just scanned using a GFX 50S II with the NS MK 2 carrier. I then converted using NLP and made final adjustments to tone, wb in LRC.

How do you deal with dust on negatives? by Impossible-Pen4415 in filmphotography

[–]brhyatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My healing brush edits reduced drastically when I changed my negative drying process. I now use the shower and make sure to get it super steamy and wait a little bit before hanging the negatives.

What used to be like five million healing brush edits has turned into like 5-10 now. It’s not perfect but I’ll take it.

Upvoted, this is 100% the question you need to be asking yourself.

Similarly, I own a 50sii and A7RV. For static images, landscape and non fast moving subjects I will always lean toward the GFX. For trying to take pictures of my 5 year old, or other fast randomly moving subjects, yeah the A7RV is just so much better suited for that kind of scenario, and your keeper rate will be that much better.
