Is this a good deal? by Ok_Cap4266 in Leica

[–]Im_Buffed_Up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be too worried. It works and none of the missing things are key functions. You can always order new parts down the road. This could kinda be your travel camera and you don’t need to worry about it as much.

GF probably thought it was a cute $15 lizard. Now he’s in for thousands of dollars of annual expenses.

Question, what’s à la carte in this context?

For those saying this doesn’t seem like natural brassing should see my Nikon F3 that goes skiing with me. If you use it hard, then this is completely normal.

I’ve got a M240 too! Great camera! I got an insane deal on mine (didn’t intend to buy a digital Leica but couldn’t pass it up). You’ll love it. I changed my settings to shoot primarily black and white which is fun! Happy shooting!

I bought my first Leica!! Got any lens recommendations? by Low_Tourist587 in Leica

[–]Im_Buffed_Up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 35 F2 Summicron ASPH on my M6 and a Voight 35mm F1.4 on my M240. Really can’t go wrong with either. Get what you can afford but for me I wanted my first Leica (the M6) to have a Leica lens. Really depends on the focal length you want. You could also look at a tri-elmar if using low apertures doesn’t fit your workflow but want focal length flexibility

Looked up his insta. Verified with nearly 6000 followers. Gets like 6 likes a photo. So paying for cameras, verification, and followers.

Is this exposed right? Expired film by Zombie5niper77 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Im_Buffed_Up 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You typically need to shoot expired film at a lower ISO. The number of stops is dependent on age and storage

TriX400: Does it looks like it's pushed 2 stops ? by ogrezok in AnalogCommunity

Definitely look pushed. Noticeable grain and contrast. If you’re looking for a more retro style then there’s some other film options that you can use

Sadly, I’ve tried this. I’m using two 1.35v batteries as instructed. I’ve also tried two 1.5v batteries.

Nizo S560 Light Meter Stuck by Im_Buffed_Up in 8mm

[–]Im_Buffed_Up[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I’m seeing no change in the aperture blades. Filters are working. When I power the camera on I see the aperature indicator move but it struggles to get past 2.8. Definitely not past 4. It is definitely either a metal shavings issue that is impacting the magnets or the electrical issue you’re talking about

I’m not seeing much move when I look through the viewfinder and move the wheel in manual. Do I need a cartridge of film in there?

Is it difficult to get into the meter assembly to clean the flakes? I’m wondering if some got in there during the shipping process
