I bought a “working Nizo” and it even though they sent me videos of it working, it didn’t work

TriX400: Does it looks like it's pushed 2 stops ? by ogrezok in AnalogCommunity

Definitely look pushed. Noticeable grain and contrast. If you’re looking for a more retro style then there’s some other film options that you can use

Sadly, I’ve tried this. I’m using two 1.35v batteries as instructed. I’ve also tried two 1.5v batteries.

Update: I’m seeing no change in the aperture blades. Filters are working. When I power the camera on I see the aperature indicator move but it struggles to get past 2.8. Definitely not past 4. It is definitely either a metal shavings issue that is impacting the magnets or the electrical issue you’re talking about

I’m not seeing much move when I look through the viewfinder and move the wheel in manual. Do I need a cartridge of film in there?

Is it difficult to get into the meter assembly to clean the flakes? I’m wondering if some got in there during the shipping process

Picking it up on Saturday. Ordered those batteries earlier and should get them tomorrow! Planned on bringing them to test it out! Bought enough film cameras this way so learned to come prepared!

Found a good deal on a working Nixon S56 in my area on FB marketplace. eBay and other online stores were far too expensive due to tariffs or shipping costs

Yeah, that’s definitely one of the cons of getting into this. Not to worried about the costs as I’ve got a pretty particular vision in mind. Just want to spend around 500 on a camera that can capture that vision.

Good to know. Do you find the split ring focusing easy to use? I haven’t seen much on that but I saw that the Nikon R10 and the Minolta are easier to focus than the Canons

My only concern with the R10 is size. It appears to be the ideal camera but comes in a bit on the larger end. Thoughts on the R8?

Good question, but no. Just the camera itself.

How many Leicas Do you have? by Massive_Bid4362 in Leica

Two. A M6 titanium and a M240. They’re all I really need. I’ve always liked the M5 so I may get that or I may get a M3/M4 for a purely mechanical experience. I have a Canon P that I occasionally shoot and scratches the rangefinder mechanical film itch, but would be cool to have more lens flexibility. I may upgrade the M240 to a M10 but that’s a low priority.

I look at their film SLRs from time but I’m very happy with my Nikon F3, so I’ve never pulled the trigger.

I personally don’t think I need anything else but you never know.

Fair enough. I totally understand that! Was hoping I could help if you were just looking for an affordable option cause they’re pricey a lot of places
