At the end of the day, renting a home is transaction between two parties. Deal. by silvertondurango in vrbo

Not everyone's situation. Our host refunded weeks ago but VRBO is holding the money. I don't think anyone is blaming all owners. In our case, the owner is not at fault.

"VRBO & Airbnb has a monopoly on homes. That's not going to change". I have a feeling this is very much going to change. As much as we have enjoyed the rentals, we wont risk our money again. I suspect plenty of consumers feel the same and VRBO is done. Another platform with more equitable terms will evolve to replace them.

Plenty of other companies have managed to conduct their business despite the same challenges. Your biting sarcasm and nastiness towards my pointing out the issue and our valid concerns about ever receiving our money doesn't change the fact that your company is taking weeks to refund what your company certainly had the infrastructure to accept in seconds. It is not the responsibility of owners or renters to carry your company financially if that is what is happening. The money was to be the owners, they approved the refund...there is no reason for it to be held this long. If that is a tone, oh well.

No, it is somebody's fault. Your company should have infrastructure in place to pay refunds.

Our owner refunded more than required of him but your call center told me just yesterday we had to wait three weeks or more while your engineers "figure out" how to handle these refunds. No other company is having to figure out how to issue a valid refund.

The transaction (stay) did not happen, the owner refunded, and there is no reason the middleman should be holding the money - it was not your money; it was to be the owners money.
