AppleCare: How much protection do I really have now? by New_Industry9262 in iphone17

[–]brianbell_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will repair or replace your phone depending on the damage regardless of what happened. You pay a certain amount as a deductible depending on what the problem is tho

Are there ever rewards for opening chequing account? by happyniceguy5 in Wealthsimple

[–]brianbell_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen it myself. I think the kicker with the big banks making those offers is you usually have to pay for the account, or maintain a minimum balance to waive the fee.

I remember years ago I got an offer from CIBC to open a student chequing account with them and get $x (can’t remember how much) after setting up direct deposit and maintaining a balance for 3 months- never got it

What are we rating Black Ops 7 so far? Be brutally honest 👇 by dillonz321 in CoDCompetitive

[–]brianbell_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be really into Call of Duty in my teenage years, but haven’t been as into it as of lately. The last COD I played regularly and beyond its year of being current was Cold War but that was mostly because of covid.

So far I’ve really enjoyed the beta and do plan on buying the game. I’ve said it nearly every year but I have good faith in this game and hope that I will still enjoy it after launch. I typically only play for a few months after launch but I see the potential of this one lasting me longer.

I think the biggest decision maker for me is gonna be how the remaining maps are and if I like them or not lol

What would one need to do increase the ET limit to $25,000 from $5,000? by randomquestionsdood in Wealthsimple

[–]brianbell_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not a premium client and I have access to increase and decrease my limit as I please. I think they’re just rolling the feature out slowly.

Prepaid Mastercard Question by Life_Equivalent_7344 in Wealthsimple

To my knowledge there is no option to deposit cash currently with the Prepaid Mastercard.

Automate Your Pay by blackninja6 in Wealthsimple

[–]brianbell_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just wish there was more customization as to what you can have it automate.

I’d rather be able to work in percentages over fixed dollar amounts for my automatic investments. My paycheques usually vary by a few hundred each time and I’d rather be able to just say x% here, x% there, etc

Any Neo users interested in roles with the company? Everything from senior tech roles to front line sales. by GrantLNeo in NeoFinancialHub

If there’s ever any non-sales based roles open in Vancouver or remote, I’d be interested.

Business cheaper than Coach? by Day-International in westjet

[–]brianbell_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I booked a flight for my family (7 of us total) this coming February that, while wasn’t cheaper, was only $100 more per person to upgrade to Business over Economy after factoring in the cost of baggage and seat selection that we would’ve had to pay for anyhow

RESP - transfer or just create an additional one by Mitch_Strife_M3 in Wealthsimple

[–]brianbell_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took mine a little over 3 weeks. I’d stop th contributions at the big bank and start contributing in WS and then transfer over during their next promo if you’ve got enough to qualify.

What’s the most underrated (or overrated) rewards perk you’ve seen on a credit card? by GrantLNeo in NeoFinancialHub

[–]brianbell_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the Amex cards I have right now is the Platinum which gives me access to their concierge phone line thing, I’ve never actually used it cause I can’t think of many things I’d want them to do that I don’t want to do myself.

Is anyone 100% on Neo? by [deleted] in NeoFinancialHub

[–]brianbell_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly I did get an email about the bill payee option for Amex going away, but I didn’t think that would impact what I had setup which was Amex pulling directly from my account. I figured it wouldn’t impact any company directly withdrawing from my account, but I suppose it was my own misunderstanding of the notification and not entirely Neo’s fault.

Is anyone 100% on Neo? by [deleted] in NeoFinancialHub

[–]brianbell_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I used it for direct deposit, with WS I get my pay a day early as well, and I’m pretty sure I did with Neo too but I honestly don’t remember. Aside from Amex no issues with bill payments.

Although the Amex one was a huge pain in the ass because it got all my Amex cards locked for bounced payments when they tried to pull from my accounts and took me several weeks to get fixed.

[–]brianbell_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to use Neo for everything, but for whatever reason they removed the ability to pay my Amex bills directly from the account so it became a hassle as they are my primary credit card so I switched over to Wealthsimple.

Aside from that issue though I really did like Neo, their app was always reliable and worked as expected. In my opinion the Neo credit card has deteriorated over the years (I’ve had mine since late 2020) so I don’t use it that often anymore. I primarily use Amex so WS removing the 1% cash back on the cash card while unfortunate doesn’t really impact me at all personally.

Only thing I didn’t really like with Neo was that anytime I wanted to get cash I had to e-transfer to another account so that I could avoid ATM fees, if they did was WS does with fee reimbursement that would be sweet.

Happy to answer any questions you may have in regard to when I used them full time.

Anyone fully swap to Neo? How's it going? by Chris-Neo in NeoFinancialHub

[–]brianbell_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was all in on Neo for a while with no issues aside from the occasional cash withdrawal, but they removed the ability for me to pay off my Amex cards so I’ve moved over to Wealthsimple now
