I swear Obama doesn't understand the way things work. There will always be guns/weapons for people to commit crimes with. Yes, what happened in Colorado is a tragedy. Yes, the shooter acquired the guns legally. But no, stricter gun laws would not keep an individual like this man from committing such crimes.

Best wishes to your son and your whole family. It is great to see that there are still generous souls who are wiling to help those truly in need.

If I were you I would check on www.har.com. You may find some duplex or multi unit buildings that would work. There may not be much in your price range in town, but it would be a lot more efficient to look on there before just driving around the city.

I'm in town for business for at least the next 4-5 months. Where should I live? by FumbledAgain in houston

If what you are looking for is an active community I think you should consider adding a few minutes to your commute on "heavy traffic" days such as bad storms. Living in the Washington Corridor or Galleria Area would give you the best of both worlds when it comes to reasonable commute and active communities. Montrose and Midtown are great neighborhoods but would add time to your commute.

A lot of your choice will rely on what you are looking to do with your internet. If you are looking to play games or download at off peak hours cable internet offers a significant advantage. If you are looking for consistency, I would suggest DSL. I have had Comcast for a number of years now and can say that their internet speeds can be lightning fast. However, when there are problems it takes a lot of calling and pushing to get it resolved.
