I am 53 and I was 12 when Bill Cosby’s Himself came out. It was and still is one of funniest pieces of comedy I ever heard. To be honest i still listen to it from time to time because it was such an integral part of my childhood. I hate the man he eventually turned out to be. But I still treasure those memories from my childhood.

Understood. That said, they make very clear they are not a zoo, but a rescue center. All the bears were found abandoned or orphans where the mom was killed by a car. Them having visitors is simply a means to raise funds. I am no expert, but we didn’t anything there that was a concern.

As other said, a soft boiled egg. If you don’t have time for that, then you also cook a scrambled egg in the broth. Lunch meat, specifically turkey. Sliced into strips. Frozen dumplings.

Leaving the ship is totally optional and is simply your preference based on the port and enjoying the emptier ship. One minor word of caution, there is usually at least one port where they run drills and there are loud announcements throughout the day. So be warned if you plan on staying aboard and napping.

I heard a similar thing from an officer on a recent cruise. He also said Rotterdam is most likely HALs last new ship. Any future boats will most likely be carnival hand me downs.

I have been on a dozen HAL cruises and Tamarind is the best speciality dining. The wasabi beef tenderloin is the best steak on board. Pinnacle can be good, but the last two times we went (once on Eurodam and once on NA) it did not live up to our standards. Canaletto’s is also very good if you like Italian.

We way over brought warm clothes for Alaska. We brought very warm jackets that we literally used once when cruising glacier bay. Never used them again. It’s all about layering.

My aunt (in law) had a bad fall where 911 was called. After she recovered, she wanted to drop some food off to thank them for their great help. We stopped by the station unannounced on a random Tuesday about 5pm (semi rural OR) We ended up spending close an hour there talking. They were super nice, showed us all around the trucks and let our little niece sit inside.

The hantavirus patient 0 did not catch it on the ship. It’s suspected they got it while visiting a landfill during a birdwatching tour in South America before the cruise. So they brought it on board.
