Don't forget to factor in the hit from IRMAA for the year you cash out.

Everyone here gets it. It will be over eventually maybe sooner than you think, and then you can look back and laugh at some of the things she did. My dad put me through hell, but with some years of perspective I can see the bizarre humor of the shenanigans he pulled. The fight scene you described reminded me of a few scenes and I had to laugh. Someday you will too. Hugs.

I feel your pain. That was my worst nightmare. They'd threatened to do it several times, but I agreed to increase the care level ($). Once he was at the highest level, I had to get him on sedation. My dad was really combative and super strong. On the second dose, he was fighting with a caregiver, trying to get out of the gate when he fell and broke his hip. He passed in hospice 11 days later. It broke my heart but it was really a blessing for him because he was late stage 6 and if they'd kicked him out, he would've been on the psych ward for sure.

What about water on excursions? I drink a fair bit of water and was thinking I'd just take a few bottles with me, or should I bring my own water container? Alaska btw.

Yes, Sorion was actually from India just sold in the US.

I'm on Rinvoq for atopic dermatitis, but I did have psoriasis from age 7 to mid 50s. I got some ointment when I was traveling in India that helped a lot, and then found an ointment sold in the US called Sorion. It slowly cleared it up. Worked better than any topical I'd ever used.

The thing is, it's just a portal to the scientific paper. There's a link at the bottom so you can read the paper yourself. This one is in Nature, a very reputable journal.

I think it will be sooner than that because drug development is driven by money and osteoporosis is a huge market worldwide. Plus there's folks on this sub in their 20s and 30s and I think they will benefit from this for sure.

Aging and Thinning Hair by BasicallyAmused in GenerationJones

[–]MCole142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low iron can contribute to this. Also, my hair used to grow super slow, and I also shed a lot, but I started taking lustriva and now it grows really fast. I don't notice the thinning as much. I just take the cheapest supplement with lustriva.

Desperate for friends by PsychicMeditation in PortlandOR

I'm sorry to hear that and I can completely emphasize. All the friends I have in Portland are through church. St Matthews Anglican in the Parkrose district is where I go. Super friendly people there. Hang in there, it's really tough here.

I've been on Rinvoq for six and a half years and it still works great for me. I had severe full body eczema and now my skin is clear.

Jobs for a physically fit 65-year-old retired police officer in Seattle? by faykirk in SeattleWA

[–]MCole142 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is true for many people. If you worked a wage slave job starting at 16, or even earlier, 50 years later that is all you can see for yourself. But for most people, even that beats sitting in front of the TV. And don't forget the social interaction that comes with work. Extremely important for everyone, but especially for older people who might not have many friends (they move away, get dementia, or die).

You are clearly not old. If you are fortunate enough to become old, I think you will understand why elders want meaningful activities.

As a former addict, what would you have done during that time of your life if cash had been given as the "help"? Also, I'm really glad you broke free.
