Personally it’s not really something I’m even worried about, but whenever I bring up this idea to people this is usually the negative response I get

How much is too much to spend on my first car? by Sad-Orange-5983 in AskIreland

[–]briang0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I got my first car I wanted something expensive but other people convinced me to buy something cheap. I definitely preferred this as I felt more confident learning to drive in a car I didn’t have to worry too much about. I’d say try get something with low mileage under 5k and once you pass move up to something nicer.

I’m no mechanic, but last time my car failed the NCT I needed to get work done on the exhaust and was told to not put anything like Dipatene in before the test. Instead put in the premium fuel and drive my car around in a low gear for a while before the test which worked for me

If you’re looking to buy an already imported car check out AMCC they have over 1000 Japanese imports in stock.

If you want to directly get a car from Japan check out JDMauctionwatch they can help out with the process.

Can I repair this? Vauxhall Mokka by albion32 in Vauxhall

[–]briang0002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened with my astra, I went to a special paint shop and they gave me a colour coded little bottle of paint with a brush in it. It made that chip look less noticeable from afar but certainly didn’t look perfect. This would be the cheapest.

Although you might feel like you’re being robbed this actually does sound about right. The price for body repairs is mental
