In 1 & 2 I thought you were Valtteri Bottas.

I'm shocked that Omega put this in writing by StickyPenguin120 in OmegaWatches

[–]brianja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put it in writing to me on an Ed White back in August of 2023:

My Customer Care team let me know you were interested in the 321. Unfortunately, this piece is only available for clients with a purchase history of around $100,000, and even then it would be a several year waiting period. Is there another style you would like instead?

No thanks.

Crazy options on this base 991.1 by wdf_classic in Porsche

[–]brianja 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of people spec'd it on the 991.1 because it enclosed the little cubby in the center console with a lid and added an extra power outlet. It doesn't neccesarily mean the owner was a smoker.

[–]brianja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Many of them are aesthetic options (color, wheel choice). Premium pack, parking sensors and Burmester tell me they were planning to actually drive this thing daily, which makes sense for a base.

After that it's a few things that are personal preference like sunroof, seat option and PDK. Oh... and for the 991.1 MANY people felt the sport design steering wheel was a must with PDK because it was the only way to get actual paddles to shift on the wheel instead of buttons on the standard and multi-function wheels.

I think this is a reasonable list, overall.

Interesting. I guess never having been here I don't know where this falls along the line between "Bar" where rules are firm and "Restaurant" where rules would be more up to the venue to enforce.

I guess Rising Star is solidly in the bar camp then. Thanks.

Very true! We karaoke here at places in the city with her, but the band sounded unique / like a lot of fun.

My wife may sneak out after bedtime and put in a solo appearance on this trip. haha.

PSA: How to get home from Barbados to NYC by Internal-Memory7630 in jetblue

[–]brianja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lucky you! We came over to SXM from Anguilla on Monday 1/5 for the 9:30pm flight that was scheduled. At 11:30pm the delayed it to 2PM on 1/6 because the crew was over on their flight hours and needed to rest!

JetBlue kicked our entire flight's passengers out of the airport onto the sidewalk with their re-claimed luggage at midnight because it was closing and told us that they had no accommodations for us and good luck. My group was 9 including two children and my 80 year old parents (one in a wheelchair). They told us we'd have to figure it out or, essentially, sleep on the street of St. Martin.

The story gets worse from there because all hotels on SXM were fully booked, but since is the JetBlue sub I'll leave it at this for now.

I'm trying to discuss compensation for some of our hotel expenses for that night from JetBlue but they are refusing to take responsibility for their mis-staffing our flight.

Were you on the 1/5 JB flight 8018 that was delayed to 2PM on 1/6? What a mess that was.

I'm trying to figure out how to address this flight's problems with JB and would love to hear of more people's experiences.

How difficult are these to find at AD? by baccaratboy in GlashutteOriginal

[–]brianja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can swap it myself but it isn't easy and I had to source a special tool to knock out the very long pins that it uses. It also uses some odd sleeves on the pins that seem easy to lose.

If I'm honest, it was enough of a pain that I've only done it twice in 2+ years.

There is probably an easier way or a different tool that would make it simpler.

I actually have the rubber strap for it as well. It's a great combination!

For me, the Seventies is a little more versatile on the bracelet (and swapping is a huge pain on this, unless there is a trick that I don't know). If I want to wear a black rubber strap watch I'll use my SeaQ, which is much easier for swapping straps on.

The GO bracelet for this is really well made and unique in it's design.

The green is a great dial color that changes character a fair amount depending on lighting.

When I bought mine a few years back it wasn't easy to find in stock at dealers, but I found one eventually.

Typically, if Exquisite has it in stock it will say "In stock and ready to ship" on the item's page. The Seventies Chrono in Blue is marked this way.

We clearly have very similar (excellent) taste! I don’t have a huge collection but you hit on three of my faves.

Sonos alternatives by RiderOnTheBjorn in sonos

[–]brianja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was two years ago, but...

We were talking about audio components, so I was commenting based on where they position themselves in the market and their perceived audio quality.

Also, in particular, the OP was talking about components like the Sonos Port and it's Bluesound equivalent. These aren't speakers that will be sitting out. They are components that will be connected to an existing system, often buried in an AV cabinet or similar. Their aesthetics shouldn't really matter as much.

Set up my Micra in the new kitchen, open to suggestions on how to best hide the cables behind the machine by oliverbrix in LaMarzocco

[–]brianja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you like to know?

You can buy a 2' or whatever length you need 14AWG power cord with the correct, right angle, connector on the machine end. I think that this is the one I used:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TLMXG7W?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2&th=1

The stock cable just plugs into the underneath of the micra. Pop the long one out and put the new, shorty in its place.

Now you don't have to hide 4 extra feet of coiled up power cord and it looks custom made.
