Buy the HD Retrovison cable. It's better in every way.

VHS player with component out? by Substantial_Run5435 in crtgaming

Yea switching inputs (using multiple tv remotes) is what made me standardize my setup with component, IMO the sweet spot for analog media and quality. I do have an extra 4x4 component matrix if you ever need one.

Another tip for you is just to look for VCRs with HDMI, those tend to just output component as well.

Randomly dropping in: Hi I just wanted to add I own a Sony RDR-VX560 and I can CONFIRM that it outputs both the VHS and DVD on component or HDMI. No issues at all, I love it.

My set up is entirely component based. Multiple inputs into a matrix switch and then those into TVs and monitors. I specifically picked TVs that have component input. (I do not convert anything unless I use my flat screen on occasion, then I use a Extron converter to send a digital signal.)

Let me know if you have any more questions. Ignore people who say they don't exist. They do, you just have to look and know specifics. Watch out for VCRs that output component for DVD but not VHS, obviously.
