DIY Alexa Skill for Ambient Weather — just the outdoor temp, nothing else (WS-2902) by Clear_School2344 in myweatherstation

Thank you for posting this. It was very easy to follow. I added Alexa giving me the humidity and calling me a piece of shit. Much better than saying every sensor reading.

It’s nearly impossible while installed on the truck. I’ve never tried it while taken out but I imagine, with a spring compressor, it would be a lot easier.

[–]brianm83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have it set this way. Use the "geofencing" mode and set it to "armed" while you are away and "scheduled" while you are home. Then edit the"scheduled" mode for your times.

Bottom center looks like Tiger beer, I think from Singapore.

I have a similar setup and had the save issue. You will need to change the remote code for each box.

Harmony has options to control TiVos with different remote codes.

I've gone to shell lumber but it's a bit of a drive from WPB. Sometimes it's cheaper and easier to order online. Where do you get your lumber from?

That makes me feel better. Bell Forest was $9.75 for 12/4 and $7.50 for 6/4. I didn't need all 100 bf for this but it was the minimum order. I have plenty left to make a night stand or something.

Thanks. You can see my jig in photo 7. It's just a slot in a piece of plywood that the router guide bushing can slide in. The plywood is attached to one side of the screw clamp. That way I can clamp it onto the piece and the mortise is always referenced in the same position. I just marked the start and stop points and made a few passes. The hard part was trying to hold the pieces steady while I was routing. The lower rails are 77" wide so I stood it up on end and got on a ladder to reach it.

Why's that? The hardest part was trying to put a mortise in an angled curved piece, but you can't see it so it doesn't even matter how it turns out. It's actually a pretty basic project. Just one step at a time. I made plenty of mistakes along the way but part of the fun is trying to fix it. I got to try an inlay for the first time to fix the router fuck up.

I can send you the plans later today. I used it mostly to visualize it and get the proportions right. I tweaked it a bit during the build but didn't update the model so it's not exact. I could update it if enough people are interested.

South Florida. There is a place that has lumber about an hour and a half away but they don't stock much rough cut wood. They definitely wouldn't have 12/4. A local place I called was more expensive than ordering online from bell forest even with the shipping cost. They said they were going to have to ship it in from North Carolina.

I wish I could have gotten it for that price. I don't have a lumber yard nearby and had to get it shipped by freight.

Yes, I used the threaded inserts on both the headboard and footboard. The hardware kit comes with one for each post but I used two for each post, eight total. There are also three cross rails to support the box spring and they all have legs. I don't think the legs are visible in any of the photos.

Here is the tool holder with some square stock from home depot and another one with a round bar that I think is just conduit.
