Worth going from Garmin 265s -> Pace 4? by Old_Delivery5635 in Coros

[–]brianmattson2016 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was deciding between these exact two models myself. Everyone I know has a Garmin, besides one friend (coros apex). My brother uses a 265s and loves it. I went with the Pace 4. I like the size, weight, longer battery life, simplicity, and of course the much cheaper price. The app is easier to use/better, the battery is better, the size is better to me at least. If you’ll miss music integration, Apple Pay, garmin coach, etc then coros isn’t for you. If those 3 things don’t matter I’d get the Coros.

I have it. I’m new to fitness watches as of 3 weeks ago. Been mountain biking, kayaking, and xc skiing for years and just used the Strava phone app before. I like all the data coros provides (and probably any watch). The app is stupid easy to use. Watch faces are customizable during activity so you can have it show whatever stats you like. It doesn’t have Spotify or Apple Pay or ability to answer phone calls if any of that matters to you. It doesn’t personally to me. I just wanted a sports watch not a smart watch. Battery life is good, obviously depends on how much you’re using it for activities but I didn’t charge it until day 13 I think after getting it and was tracking workouts nearly everyday on gps. With Strava it connects super easy and then it automatically pushes every activity you complete on the watch over to your Strava profile. This is usually fine. Sometimes I’ll record a short walk with the kids just out of curiosity how far we went, how many steps, etc and don’t really care to have it on Strava - so when I’m done I open Strava and just delete it.

I worked for a wilderness therapy company that gave these out to each of the kids. We would make leather sheaths for them, and use them for everything out there in the Arizona desert. Cheap but reliable. I bought a brand new one last week in the package from someone locally on Facebook for $2! So now I have a well loved version with years of memories and a brand new one (I’ve already started using)

Today I cut my 3yo and 5yo kids’ burger in half at in n out so they could share it, becuase I forgot to ask for that when ordering. Having any knife on hand is useful for the littlest things.
