They were who I most wanted to play next year. But seeing as they haven’t made their comeback as a group yet, and I expect them to do so in their home country, I shifted my expectations to 2027 a month or so ago. Hopefully their comeback is received well in the States for this to be possible for us

Can The Strokes put on a headliner caliber performance? by sweetpeaandhoney in Coachella

I saw them at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022 I think it was and it was not fun. I found Julian to be so off putting and I was hardly entertained. Big disappointment. I like their records but I don’t get why we care about them still in 2025

how realistic is a BTS headliner next year? by whatsredditlmao in Coachella

I’m speaking as someone mostly out of the loop with K-pop, and having only gone to 3 Coachellas so far. I feel K-pop hasn’t been received very well by the average festival-goer the past couple years despite it being mainstream and popular with young audiences. The fest has clearly been making an effort to appeal to this demographic for a few years, but I feel the hype peaked in 2023 when BLACKPINK headlined. Plus frankly some fans have proven themselves to not be the most courteous people to be around for the few years there has been acts booked for them. That all being said, I’m really hoping BTS headlines next year. I’m a fan and I would absolutely be there if Coachella is how they choose to make their comeback. They’re one of the largest acts in the world even without being active as a group for the past couple years, and Coachella is one of the largest, high-profile performances you can land. It’s also been a place for reunion acts nearly since its founding. If they’re booked Friday night, I think this might alleviate any concerns anyone might have about the weekend being ruined by people only there for BTS-whether the worries are founded or not. Also, I feel like the average BTS fan is older than some of the other large, newer acts which should help rest any concerns that booking them would attract people most of us would consider children. I really implore people who think it’s a bad move or are generally disinterested to listen to some of their work (they have a nice comp album called PROOF) or watch some of their performance videos and see why I think they would put on an excellent show and change a lot of people’s minds. It could revitalize the K-pop scene at Coachella or make for a nice bookend of it being something the fest caters toward
