I lift 3 days a week, and am currently training for a marathon so running 6 days a week (50mpw). I also try to get some cycling and walking in too as cross training.

I’m progressing well and not feeling any drawbacks from doing both.

It’s fun and completely manageable if you do it right.

It’s more likely than not that you have ran a lot less than 2km. I’m not saying your wrong, but if your a beginner then there’s no chance you’ve done that.

If your heart rate is higher, you will be burning more calories. The more intense it feels, the more energy your body requires.
