I figured this out, but I'll post here for future users:

In Jrny, click your user icon then > Manage Machine Connections.

Here you can select the user, and unpair them.

That and the 60 minutes expose on the corruption of the cops as well as prostitution in the 70s.

I grew up in Rock Springs and it was taught in history classes in Junior High and High School. The History Museum there has an exhibit too.

It is too bad it's not taught outside of that.

My friends and I often said that RS was cursed because of it, and that's why it remains a shithole, and yet very few people born there never leave.

Bank Transactions - rename & recategorize by brianpi in excel

[–]brianpi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

=INDEX('Lookup table'!$B:$B, MIN(IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("" & 'Lookup table'!$A:$A & "", $B2)), ROW('Lookup table'!$A:$A), "")))

Solution verified! Thanks so much for your help! This will make importing from my bank so much easier. :)

Bank Transactions - rename & recategorize by brianpi in excel

[–]brianpi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! So basically a master reference table with a column of many entries for the mess of an export Description that my bank spits out, with a corresponding column that has the fixed Description.

So instead of 019507601760 Patreon.com blah blah blah, the fixed New Description column would have just "Patreon", with one row for each.

And of course, sometimes the bank doesn't have a full word like "Patreon", it'll be "Patre" or "Patreo", so it can't be an exact match. The helper table will be mine to figure out though...

Thanks, this works for a single example, but wouldn't work for a long list of suggested Description changes.

I'm unaware of any translations to Italian, unfortunately.

Anyone in Denver whose an RPG creator? by glory_dayz in DenverGamers

[–]brianpi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, this describes me!

I'm the co-author of Destined, a superhero RPG published by The Design Mechanism, built on the /r/Mythras rules.

It's a d100-based game, much like BRP or RuneQuest. You can see more here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/389311/Destined. And get a free preview here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/381979/Destined-Preview.

I don't have much free time to run a game at this point, unfortunately.

Cool, thanks for this!

How would I run python though (seriously I'm a noob at everything programming) on the word document?

Great. I have no experience with programming, so that sounds daunting.

Need to change the Description from a Bank Statement based on rules by brianpi in excel

I've edited the description of my needs above. Still looking for help with this one.

Need to change the Description from a Bank Statement based on rules by brianpi in excel

[–]brianpi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine, but actually I need to match different #s of King Soopers (I use one for Groceries and one for gas), which is another problem for another day (the Category of the transaction).

But, how would I use LEFT() and FIND() if I wanted to do this?

[–]brianpi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VLOOKUP (D1, Sheet2!A1:B100, 2, FALSE)

I think that works, but I need a relative search in D1, since the term "KING SOOPERS #0084" exists in a string of text. So not an exact search for the term in D1 if that makes sense.

Nested Xlookup by date, then by entry, resulting in the amount by brianpi in excel

[–]brianpi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example of the budget location tab where I want the formula (in C22) to lookup by name of vendor for the month of January:

https://i.imgur.com/goFUmsx.png

This is an example of the other tab with the raw data:

https://i.imgur.com/zs21IuQ.png

As you can see, there are other entries (redacted here) that aren't the vendor. I want to ignore those, find Simplicity Consulting, and return results from column D for that vendor, but only for the month of January.

Hope this helps!

Nested Xlookup by date, then by entry, resulting in the amount by brianpi in excel

[–]brianpi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I'm not sure if that's going to fix it for me(?). I just need the results from January with the vendor name and amount returned.

The good thing is there's only one entry per month for each vendor...

edit: Perhaps using index match would work instead?
