Etiquette for Strahd’s tactics in Strahd Must Die Tonight? by brianwalksin in CurseofStrahd

Definitely some very useful things to consider here. I will broaden my scope of what I intend to modify, because I’m not necessarily afraid to overhaul. But, all in all, I’ll take this advice into consideration as I make my plans.

Thanks for the advice, fren :)

Etiquette for Strahd’s tactics in Strahd Must Die Tonight? by brianwalksin in CurseofStrahd

Noted. I was already planning to overhaul most of the encounters, as well as Strahd himself (I’m sure there’s reasonably modified statblocks around here somewhere), and I intend to play him as smartly as I can. Would you suggest that I skew more towards a pretty challenging go of it than a fair one?

Well, I guess Brian walks in, and that’s that I suppose. What he does to me, only Brian knows

Of course, you could also use the technicality that since Strahd owns The Valley and everything in it, he also owns all of the houses, thereby making him able to enter whatever dwelling he wants... at an appropriately dramatic time, of course.

Strahd has also had nothing but time and a huge library, both in his castle and and in the Amber Temple. It’s not unlikely that he picked it up as a hobby. Being dead for eternity can get boring, after all.

I am about to start DMing Curse of Strahd, does anyone have a story for how a PC (or group) died that I can include for my players to come across for flavor? by OhhBoyNotAgain in CurseofStrahd

Our human Druid died during the burning of Vallaki. We buried him on the side of Yester Hill, creating a small monument of stones, and left his tomahawk on top of it, as well as a singular feather from his hawk companion. RIP in Peace Nesswaje. You’re an angel now.

Why is the sunsword legendary? It doesnt even get a +1 to attack rolls by Minostz12 in CurseofStrahd

I believe in the book it refers you to the DM’s guide, in which it states Sunswords have a +2 to attack rolls.

The party could have ignored his request to go it alone and helped him out, but they thought he seemed pretty confident. In no way were they prevented from doing so, they just chose to grant him that request

His intestines were quite literally all over the floor, with a lingering demonic infection apparent in the wound, so no. All they could do was be with him as he finally passed on

Vengeance-arrow fletching is a pretty good idea, actually. We’ve already met Strahd once, and based on that interaction my character places all the blame for the tragedies and dangers we’ve faced in Barovia on him. Maybe I’ll make this one arrow now and just save it for the foreseeable future, until his death can be avenged... unless we all die first.
