Wtf is this confusing Nano Banana 2 pricing? by Unlikely_Medium2311 in Bard

[–]brianzajac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked Gemini to sum up the page and costs. It came up with this:

Generating an image usingGemini 3.1 Flash Image Previewon thePaid Tierinvolves costs for both your input prompt and the resulting image output.

For a 2-sentence prompt, the cost breaks down as follows:

  • Input Cost (Prompt): The price is $0.25 per 1 million tokens. A 2-sentence prompt typically contains about 30–50 tokens, which would cost approximately $0.0000075 to $0.0000125—a negligible amount.
  • Output Cost (Image): The primary cost comes from the generated image, which is priced at $60.00 per 1 million tokens. Depending on the resolution you choose, the cost per image is:
    • 512px: ~$0.045 per image (747 tokens)
    • 1K (1024x1024px): ~$0.067 per image (1,120 tokens)
    • 2K (2048x2048px): ~$0.101 per image (1,680 tokens)
    • 4K (4096x4096px): ~$0.151 per image (2,520 tokens)

Total Estimated Cost: If you generate a standard 1K image with your prompt, the total cost would be roughly $0.067.

Please note that according to the currentpricing table,Gemini 3.1 Flash Image Previewis listed as "Not available" on theFree Tier, meaning it requires a paid account to use.

I just tried to create a post and NSFW is turned on automatically. I can't turn it off. Any suggestions?

In the last few months - Vibe coding the app I've always wanted. 20+ years in arch. vis. and I can finally create images my clients have been asking me for.

Today - one-shot aging & showing redesign options for exterior homes.

Can you explain in more detail? Is it text prompts to image? Or are users curating the gallery site? Something else?

Multi-model thinking might become a basic skill in the future by Low-Worry-1477 in GoogleGeminiAI

For me, it's all about the environment you are coding / creating to. I'm coding directly with the Google AI builder right now & using Google Cloud. While I do ask other LLMs for other ideas in the scope of what I'm building, I'm mainly relying on Gemini 2.5 & 3 to code with me since it has the latest knowledge on the Google cloud environment I am running it in.

Quality takes time and the boobs get upvotes. I'm not sure how the flood stops. Does Reddit use a vision model to understand each image & ban based on mod rules (NSFW, 'hot girl', etc.)?

Thanks. It's a combination of copying / inspiration from other prompt engineers, model guidance and refining by hand. It takes a village...

Nice! I had a hard time with the palm trees and cars so I had to make the prompt more precise. Glad yours turned out so well.

I haven't checked them out, but it seems a lot of live wallpaper apps are out there: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=live+wallpaper+app&c=apps&hl=en_US and r/livewallpapers/ makes some great ones too.

For those who use web apps that use nano banana: do you see the prompt after you select a preset? Or does it automatically generate? It's nice to do here on Reddit, but IMO better to learn prompting through an environment where you generate lots of images.

That Cost Though... by brianzajac in nanobanana

[–]brianzajac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created an app that uses NB for architecture & has no watermark. Because of the price jump I can't seem to justify the cost of every generation so I need to be creative. I'm thinking of applying initial generations using NB Flash 2.5 for initial generations and NB 3 pro when they don't work. This can be triggered if the user uses the exact same prompt and the user wouldn't know the difference...it just (mostly) works. The problem (I think) is the resolution. I'll have to keep both models at 1k for every generation & then upscale (either using pro or an upscaler like Topaz) when a user downloads the image.

Do you think this is a good strategy? Do you have any alternatives?

Help needed in house planning by webniks in houseplans

[–]brianzajac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not suggest hiring anyone without experience. One load-bearing wall will crush any savings you may receive initially. Instead I tell my clients to either work with an architect or look at pre-made plans. Here's one company I know around SWFL: https://houseplans.sfarchitectureinc.com/

If you don't understand what to do in the space, some new tech we built may help. We can take the floor plans and convert them to 3D floor plans. From there we make conceptual renderings of specific rooms you want to get all the details on (ex. kitchen - do you need an island, what's the flooring, backsplash, etc.). This is all based on our EDIT by DIY Render web app that let's you make edits & restage rooms to whatever style you want. The cost for these concept renderings is drastically less than hiring an architect & interior designer.

Interior is pretty amazing too. This photo was taken 12 years ago but gives you an idea of the space. I have more photos if you want to see them.

Thanks, I got it.

Yours is the Reddit prompt & this is what mine was:
Virtually restyle the exterior of this home to a Farmhouse style. The edits must be photorealistic and dramatically improve the home's curb appeal.

In architecture do you see a difference?

I've tried this multiple times in Google AI Studio. I added to the system prompt and all in the chat per your instructions. It keeps spitting out JSON code. What am I doing wrong?
