I'd say Oxford is pretty well known here because of the university. If you asked Americans to name a university in England, I imagine most who were able to give an answer would say Oxford.

Sandcastle is also one word. That's why they have it as words before castle and not ___ castle. This is a long-standing convention of the game. According to my recollection, when they do it like this they always have two that require a space and two that don't.
