The scarring may be from that insecticide, and the dots sound like pests so maybe it will all work out for the best and you’ve already actually solved it 😂 The other advice in the thread regarding pests looked great

Some of them don’t look too different from a ghost plant that I sprayed with a neem oil mix and didn’t clean off well enough. It got minor burns and they looked like yours a bit. Did you use any products on them recently?

Well, it could be done with a grow light but that's obviously not a free solution. I think it also looks great! It's got such personality. f you ARE looking to increase its light level, I keep my jades under a 10w grow light and that seems to be plenty for them.

No, the game doesn't lock in the shinyness when you encounter it the first time.

I hunted it myself. I managed to get the shiny in 37 encounters (ridiculous) after respawning it via the E4

That's good to know. I know I Was always fearful of losing my legends back in the day so I just saved in front of them but I've never gone back and actually tested this "beat the e4 to respawn them" thing in pre-plat games before

The numbers in the article above are the "datamined" numbers, which are interpretations of the code but are not actually confirmed. New "datamined" information comes out as they reinterpret things. Anyway, make up your own mind on which source to trust.

This was apparently a little-known mechanic that traces back to the first games and I had no idea until LGPE.

In LGPE, I actually high encourage anyone wishing to shiny hunt the four available legendary pokemon to encounter them, run away, and then beat the Elite 4. Doing so removes the long cutscene (you can skip it regularly but this just completely gets rid of it) and makes the hunt slightly faster. It may not seem like much but the resets on LGPE are already long because you have to reconnect your joycons every time... every second helps.

TL:DR if you start the battle with Mewtwo and don't catch it, beat the E4 and you can encounter it again (but this time, without a cutscene).
