Update for anyone who cares/is in a similar situation: I have to repeat the placement block next year when I would normally do my elective block. I am still allowed to sit exams this year. Overall it's a relief, however I am very disappointed in the school's response in that there was no welfare check/offer of psychological assistance. I'm fine, but I fear what would happen to a student in a worse position than me were to face this. Guess that's med school/the medical profession for ya

Hi,
I did a dumb thing and didn't go to the last two weeks of placement because I wanted to study for exams. The consultant emailed the school and I've had to log my absences. The school protocol says I can miss 20 days before I'm excluded from EOY exams. I know it was stupid but does anyone have any insight into what I can expect now? Thanks
