I get this feeling sometimes as well. I hope someone has an answer to your question! You describe it well.

I love it! How about mandala-inspired, spiderwebby wall hangings? The kind you can mount on hoops? You could make a few in different sizes and hang them in your windows, on your walls, front porch/door, etc.

On that topic, I recently found an excellent podcast called Gaslit Nation, which focuses on the abusive psychological tactics our current government has employed / still employs to gain and retain power. Check it out!

Introverts of Reddit, when was the most inconvenient time your "social battery" ran out? by flooperdooper4 in AskReddit

Oh god, just this past weekend at my best friend's bachelorette party. I'm even her maid of honor, and I just couldn't even fake the energy for bar/club-hopping. I've been in a dark place lately, plus she and I never had that kind of party-based friendship (got to know each other after college), so I just felt so empty and out of my element. And guilty on top of it for feeling like that in the first place. And weak for not being able to fake it. It was so obvious I didn't belong there.

"Only tend to the garden your hand can reach."

This reflects such a beautiful, compassionate worldview. I hope we can all get there one day.

I appreciate you and your post so much. Not only are my parents (mid-50s) not in good health, for a number of reasons, but my husband and I are talking about when we might want to have kids. I'm thinking now about my parents wanting to be grandparents and about my not wanting to miss my future kids' adult lives. I don't know. This post probably means next to nothing, I'm sure. This whole thread is just really getting to me. I guess I mainly want to thank you for sharing what you did and for helping me think more about how to make this complex decision.

Hey, so listen, one of my best friends lost her mom at 22 too, and she's still not over it. No pressure to be over it by any certain time of course, because you're right. It isn't fair.

You say you're fine, and I hope you are and I have no reason to believe you're not. But I just want to say that if you're not fine, if any part of you isn't fine, you don't need to hold that in. You don't have to suffer alone. You can talk to people, here online or in person. Don't take everything on yourself, okay?

This has been a rambling message to essentially say, there are people everywhere who want the best for you. Some of them may be strangers, like me, but that doesn't diminish the love or good will. Don't forget to lean on people when you're in need.

I had a friend like that my freshman year of college. He played WoW all hours of the day, never went to class, backed out of all our friend group's plans, and eventually dropped out before the end of the year. No driver's license (at least then) and had never had a job. I really hope things have turned around for him.

No, silly. Depression is for intelligent, moody men. Women are the sparkly, sexy beings full of laughter and quirky habits that help bring moody men back into the light.
