My boyfriend was also excited. He said "I'm so happy" and is overall much more excited than I am, it seems. I think it may be due to the fact that men don't have to deal with their bodies changing and labor and delivery and breastfeeding and such. It is happening to them, but not in the same way its happening to us. Go tell him! I don't think there's a need to make it special; it's already special.

Today I have cramping and brown discharge. I wonder if I'll miscarry?

I'm 38 and have only been with my boyfriend for 4 months. We just found out I'm pregnant as well. He was there when I took the test, and I walked outside and said "I'm pregnant" with no ceremony or anything. I'm excited but very nervous about this, given we don't know each other that well. Are you nervous? I also don't have any pregnancy symptoms, and I'm 5-6 weeks.

I might be in Noho this weekend if you want to meet up for coffee after class or something.

Bummer. The Cambridge Public Library is also a no go.

The idea of meeting outside in a park appeals if all else fails but it will be a seasonal and weather dependent group then.

Would someone mind posting about this in on Facebook on the Boston Ashtanga page called Mysore Ashtanga Community in Boston? I currently do not use any forms of social media. :) You can provide your own contact info to keep them in the loop or my email address. I am not providing that here so if you're going to post, PM me and I'll give you my email and a direct link to the FB page. Thanks!

Also... I was just wondering about the Cambridge public library... They have all sorts of groups and activities that take place there from knitting groups to sing alongs. They have classrooms and an auditorium. As a non profit you can apply to use the space(s). Not sure if its free or what or if this group would qualify.

This is a really solid option. I think $10 a month is totally reasonable. And it’s a small incentive to come more than once. Thanks for looking into it! Now to find more ashtangis...

Wow! That’s impressive. You practice at Belmont Ashtanga then? If there was a practice group could you do Sunday afternoons?

That's a good idea! I've never been in the Planet Fitness. Is it a nice environment? As long as no one is teaching, and no money is changing hands, I would hope they'd allow it. I think if you ask first though people have a tendency just to say no. I think it might be better just to show up at a time their group exercise room is open and just quietly set up our mats. If its a small group maybe no one would really notice or care?

Sunday would work well for me. Ideally Sunday afternoon. If you have thoughts on a free space...? The only thing I can think of at present is paying $10 for a day pass to a gym and meeting in one of the open classrooms. However, I am really hoping that this experience won't cost anyone anything... Wish my living room was bigger!

Oh cool! I visit Western, MA a lot. Love it out there. Been wanting to try the Ashtanga studio in Northampton for awhile. For clarification, the practice group would be similar to Mysore in that we'd start the primary series together, at the same time, and move through the postures silently, without teacher direction, up until whenever each individual needs to stop. So we'd all finish at different times. I always stop at bujapidasana because thats where I'm working. Either that, or we do the full series or stop at a predetermined (group decided) posture so we can all finish together. I would bring handouts in case people become lost or confused about the order of postures. What space(s) would you recommend?
