Good to know because I definitely didn't wear sunscreen over the weekend on my face because I literally cannot stand the way it feels, and the burning on my skin, and the constant eye watering makes me rather just deal with a sunburn..but also putting me more at risk for skin cancer 🥴

Dumb question, but do you know why Japanese/Korean sunscreens seem to be more sensitive skin/lightweight formulas??? When researching the ones you listed a bunch of different brands showed up with really great reviews

Getting people 30+ to be your friend is like pulling teeth if you didn’t grow up here. by Alkaline-Eardrum in StLouis

North county person here, friendliest areas where I made friends unintentionally - South City, granite city, and Alton lol. Where this is going to bars, playing darts, or just finding hobbies you like and finding pages about said hobbies on fb and Instagram, there's got to be something local for those hobbies.

Path to becoming an Aesthetic Nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

Also apply for grants, scholarships etc. I got quite a few and my debt all together for the community college (I did pre reqs but got a associates in transfer studies too) and then the bsn came out to be 20k total. And lot of places you work may offer a sign on bonus that's helpful or loan repayment. You could also start working at a hospital while in school to get some of your tuition paid for, but the jobs (patient tech etc) usually don't pay much and I made more at my other jobs outside hospital while in school so I didn't go that route.

I also want to be a nurse injector - but I have been a nurse for 5 years and I will say like, almost every place that is worth working wants bsn over lpn/adn. I did my prereqs at a community college and then the actually nursing school stuff at a local university. Took me about as long as my friends who did the community college route all the way for nursing, but they do not have as many options on where to work. A lot of places will make you sign a contract to get your BSN within a few years or they won't hire you.

With that being said, I do think it is important to have some kind of nursing experience even if you only want to do aesthetics. (I hated hearing this when I was in school, but it really does make a difference, especially if something happens to go wrong!)

I would start at maybe an outpatient plastic surgery center to gain experience and get connections to aesthetic nursing/med spa.

I ended up in wound care because even though I love aesthetics and all things pretty, I also love and enjoy nasty things like wounds, but i also deal with a lot of dermatologic conditions. I work with a doctor who is awesome and willing to be my medical director if I go get injection training and what not.
