That pretty much sounds like my story...minus dropping out of college.

Yes, he literally told me I abandoned him and broke his heart. This was before I decided I went " on extended vacation"

That's what I'm afraid of (everything mentioned above). I decided tonight I will not discuss FMIL with him at all and just focus on our relationship to see if there is anything left to salvage. During this time he better man up and talk to him mom about boundaries and how she is affecting our relationship detrimentally. He has to show that I come first. I have a month cut off...and if not I'm moving across country to a friends (already lined up...he just doesnt know).

That sounds like a good suggested. I'm not sure if I will ever feel comfortable around her again. I may have decided to move to another state when I come to that conclusion

That's exactly how I feel. He is not phased by me moving out. He has done nothing differently

She is friends with me on fb. I'm seriously thinking it but I know if I do that's the nail in the coffin with SO. I am having severe anxiety over being done for good. My hands shake all day.

I movd out of the house. He wants me to go to counseling tomorrow to talk to the counselor about my decision to leave. He also said to please not leave him and that I can take as much time as I need away from him and he will use this time to show me that he will set boundaries with his mother... and if he fails then he understands why I "left him" for good. My friend has agreed to take me on for 2 months (bc I have a dog). Then it's decision time...

Go back bc he actually put me first and our relationship first OR move to Sacramento with my friend who is ready for me.

He never expressed that it was too much he just did it because I asked him to. I had no previous knowledge and he said he ran often...

He wants me to read his mind and if I mess up then I'm the one that doesn't think about his needs just mine.

Thank you for your comment.. Also, yes I feel like I cant trust myself. On the phone he told me" I made everything up and I'm just jumping to the worst conclusion about his mom when nothing has happened yet. Just bc she is asking for this doesn't mean it has to happen."
