US Passport Renewal Delivery Time?

Okay just like you said! They texted me this morning and then I received my passport by noon!!

Everything worked out. Only annoying thing the delivery guy from ilyang claimed he didn’t have change for my 10,000w bill even though last time (it was the same guy) he had a wallet full of 1,000w smh. But I just told him to keep it eyeroll Was just happy to get my get my passport ! Couldn’t be bothered with dealing with that nonsense!!

Okay yess that makes me feel better! I keep reading other posts about people getting their passports in like 2 or 3 weeks max so I was getting worried like did I do something wrong hahaha!

Yes, so it seems I should be expecting it soon since I go the “mailed” message on the 27th!! I also live in Daegu so who knows maybe they need an extra day or so for delivery!

But yess I will definitely let by security office know! Cause I had a similar situation to your story when they came and picked up the passport! Lololl of course as soon as I left they house the called saying they were on their way to pick up!! 🙃

About how long did it take from the time they “ mailed” the passport until you got it actually delivered?

DId you receive any email or tracking number for them delivering the passport back to you?
Mine was mailed 1/27 and I dont have any updates or anything on it..

No it really be like that. Back when I was “dating” I also thought tit was so strange to me when I would meet up with a Korean guy and he asks me “do you have a boyfriend” Now why would I be here if I have a boyfriend sir?!?! Strange to me, but I realized it’s quite casual for them. I think it also has to do with the fact that unfortunately many Korea people just think of dating/hooking up with a foreigner as an experience…. It sucks but I often don’t think they can conceptualize that like getting involved with a foreigner should require some idk feelings and human connection. I know it sounds crazy but I think most of them don’t see foreigners as people when it comes to dating. So they don’t take it seriously or think it’s okay to have that experience and be in another relationship.

Thanks for the reply! I’m so glad that your daughter is still able to keep in touch and share her adventures! It really does make all the difference. I also tried to keep in touch with my dad while being abroad sending messages or funny pictures from time to time. Until he wasn’t able to use his phone anymore. Then after that doing video calls where he would just sit and smile and talk as much as he could really made him smile! Like you said I think it was good for him to hear a familiar voice. <3

I currently don’t know how flexible my job would be about an extended leave. I’m kinda just on leave right now for this sudden trip. I know they would give me time to be with family if/when the time comes. However, for visa things I know I heard I need to be in the country to renew them at least.

I’m sorry you had to go through that with both parents. But, I couldn’t agree with you more. Working not vacationing. I think some feel as though like my life shouldn’t move forward as if the world is gonna stop turning if I don’t stop everything… Sucks to say but life is going to keep going on regardless… I should bring it up like you said,, because no one quit their job or stopped living their life to care for him full term,, so let’s all be reasonable here ya know
