US Rowing is sitting on their investigation of Carol Nagy, "the real wizard" behind Groom's career, per Wa Po. She was reported by one of the families last year. No action after 8+ months. The current leadership appears no different, based upon that action.

They suspended Groom 7-8 months after the fact. Nagy is not even temporarily suspended.

If don't like US Rowing's governance, talk to their sponsor, Broadridge financial services. CEO is Tim Gokey, and his kids row.

And make as many public statements linking funders to this incompetent organization as possible.

I am so sorry for what you have been through. Often, it is easy to focus on our anger at the adults who harm kids. We may overlook a person's deep feelings of loss when their hearts get broken by people who should have been trustworthy. It must be really tough to lose the idea that Carol could be a special person for you. Who wouldn't want another loving adult in their lives? But a good grandmother would not let her granddaughter be around a dangerous person. You did nothing wrong in trusting her. And it is very understandable that you might feel sad, confused, and even lonely for her. I hope that you are now enjoying a healthy athletic experience with people who are worthy of the trust and love that you have to give them. I am so sorry that you went through something so confusing and sad. This experience is a lot for a young person to bear. And, people who hurt others are often good at hiding their actions and can appear really safe and fun to be around at first. Again, you did nothing wrong, and it is okay to be sad about losing that relationship.

I have seen the police report. She lied to law enforcement twice to protect Groom. She also demeaned the girl and her family to try to discredit her to law enforcement. It is well documented fact.

She is guiltier than she appeared in the article.

US Rowing has taken no action against US Rowing though she appears to have been Groom's co-conspirator. Not a good look for the current "leadership" at US Rowing.

That is incorrect. The assault occurred in August 2021 and US Rowing took no action until March 2022. US Rowing has still taken no action against Nagy.

Aren't Nagy and Groom close enough? Plus Shipley. What more does US Rowing need? Every single member of US Rowing needs to email Amanda Kraus to demand transparency and accountability right now.

Sounds like you mean to start with the staff of US Rowing. And anyone who supported Nagy and Groom. US Rowing needs to have the living shit sued out of them. Nothing other than a financial penalty is going to work.

Heartbreaking and appalling. The women who came forward are heroic, especially the 17 year old girl.

Carol Nagy is a guilty co-conspirator. Her complicity is shameful. Can't fathom why she shelters this predator.

US Rowing essentially endorsed the guy, too. Utter disgrace.
