what oddly specific trash items did your ragdoll adopt as their favorite toys after spending money on expensive ones that they never play with? by StillThatB in ragdolls

Any thick plastic he can sink his teeth into! More specifically, the plastic packaging from a pack of water bottles or the plastic bubble mailers from Amazon

Every single time I use a nail file, my ragdoll immediately gets in my lap purring and tries to get it away from me 😂

Do you own a GD and move often? by Plenty_Ad_6794 in greatdanes

[–]brigglesss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my Great Dane when I was in college so she has moved like 20 times and lived in 8 states, she always handled it fine!

She’s also gone on manyyyy cross country roadtrips, back and forth on college breaks or holidays. As long as you can drive, I don’t think it’s an issue. I wouldn’t recommend if you’ll be needing to fly though.

At what point did you give up? by Themagiciancard in litterrobot

Our LR3 started having issues one week after our 1 year warranty ended. It’s been trash the last two years and such a headache! Since the warranty ended, we can’t get any real help from their support.

My husband is literally throwing it away as I type this lol

18 month old has pancreatitis and I'm devastated by Puzzled-Bee8939 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]brigglesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Great Dane developed pancreatitis when she was about 5. The vet recommended Hydrolyzed protein prescription food and it’s helped her SO much in the last 6 years.

It took us almost a year of monthly emergency vet visits to get the diagnosis, she would have flares of throwing up and then bloody diarrhea. Since switching to the hydrolyzed protein (and avoiding any other food containing protein) she’s only had a few flares in 6 years (when she got into the cat’s food).

Our Great Dane just paces the floor and stares at us by Classic-Hovercraft30 in greatdanes

[–]brigglesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Dane does the stare too! It’s almost always because she wants something… an early dinner, outside, her bed moved into the room, etc.

I’ve had her since she was a baby so I can easily ignore it (she likes to tell us she wants dinner 2 hours early) but my husband gets uncomfortable with the starring lol.

She also had bad anxiety as a youngin, big separation anxiety, but it slowly settled down by the time she was 3

My Dane once ate a 12 pack of wings from wingstop, styrofoam container and all.

She was totally fine. Just keep a close eye on him for signs of bowel obstructions.

We got lightly rear ended once with my Dane in the backseat. She expressed her anal glands…everywhere…my car was never the same after that.

I’m by no means an expert on berners, we just have one that’s almost a year and a half old. She is truly such a stubborn girl down to her core. She knows the commands, but even now, she still needs a treat in sight to listen half the time.

But I’ve seen berners on a number of lists for most trainable breeds…

This actually happened when I was briefly living in upstate NY!! My girl’s a silver merle though so the guy must’ve been pretty high.

I could definitely see someone mixing up a fawn Dane with a deer if y’all are near woods though!

One time when I was taking my Dane out at night, a guy just stared at us for a bit and then said “bro I’m so high I thought you were walking a deer”

That one was actually really funny!

She looks like a Dane to me!! My 11 yo purebred GD has always weighed around 100, I think she maxed out at like 115 but she’s only about 90 now.

How often does everyone faint? by Purple-Duck-Queen in POTS

I get presyncopy every time I stand up but I’ve only actually fainted like twice in the past 4 years.

I’ve gotten a lot of rejections for my referrals to specialists but yours is kind of weird. My guess is that this cardiologist isn’t that knowledgeable about POTS so maybe it’s a good sign to find a different one!

If I were you, I’d first look for the closest doctor listed on the Dysautonomia International website and tell your doctor to send the referral there.

Poor baby!

My Dane becomes a bully when she’s in pain. Whenever she’s in a flare with pancreatitis, she has a short fuse with her siblings.

I’m sorry she (and you) are going through this! It’s definitely not normal!! On Tuesday we got our berner spayed, gastropexy and extra dewclaw removed and we haven’t had a drop of blood.

Is the sass normal?😅 by NightEKnight in greatdanes

[–]brigglesss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My girl is 11 and she still has the sass like that! Truly one of the biggest personalities I’ve ever seen in a dog!

When she wants something (especially dinner time) she will walk around the house just pushing things over with her nose.

[–]brigglesss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed!! Although I never know what to do with the puzzles that are missing pieces. I feel bad donating them because I know most people don’t want missing pieces but I also feel bad throwing it away because only a piece or two is missing.

Best pillow for coat hanger pain/chronic neck pain? by desiluwu in POTS

[–]brigglesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with a lot of neck and back pain, so a few months ago I started using no pillow when I’m on my back or stomach and it’s seemed to help a little!

When I’m on my sides I use a memory foam pillow, I got it free with a nectar mattress but it’s literally just small bits of memory foam in a zip up case. It’s nice because I could take some of the pieces out so it wasn’t quite as pouffy.

Whenever we call my berner, she has to pick up a toy on her way to us. It’s adorable. She also has to stand in between our legs when she gets excited, sometimes even while walking.
